I am not saying only certain people can be here because that's not true I'm just wondering why so many atheist are on I mean Religion and spirituality is the last place logic would tell you to go to find an atheist.
Is it you want others to be atheist or deep down you know that complete randomness can not account for complex life

by the way before you go oh I get it this is just another brain washed christians like most Atheist it pisses me off (alot at school) when stupid people who think and claim to be christians tell me and one of my best friends(an atheist to which by the way we both read the bible for it's teaching and philosophy) that we dont know what we are talking about and they do because they pretend to listen to a preacher

p.s. If you were confused at where I stand on religion I am a christian although I dont stand on any section like Babtist or any thing like that I do read the Bible for my own interpatations and there are things I choose not to believe or follow

haha They have ears to hear, but they understand not. True life is true freedom to think what you want. Why try to analyze it? Just be. And, don't worry about the others. We're okay. We woke up and are hoping others will, too.

"Why are you on the religion part of answers?"
Because religious belief directly affects us whether or not we believe.

"Religion and spirituality is the last place logic would tell you to go to find an atheist."
[see above answer]

"Is it you want others to be atheist or deep down you know that complete randomness can not account for complex life"
A. Evolution is not random. B. Evolution accounts quite nicely for complex life.

"I do read the Bible for my own interpatations..."
This is exactly what the Pat Robertson's of the world do. And they use the interpretation that best serves them and make the rest us bow to their will. When you understand how they use the bible to impose their will upon us, you'll understand why we're here.

It's too early to start drinking here on the left coast so I'll answer instead. I first came over here following the trail of someone who was posting young-Earth nonsense in Astronomy & Space. I drop by from time to time for a couple of reasons. One is to combat the antiscientific superstition that some people mistake for religion. I've always had a fascination with the extremes of self-delusion, and this place provides a fair amount of that. It also raises interesting points on how we perceive the world, and how subjective those perceptions are. More in line with the purpose of the section, I like to explore and compare beliefs and ideas about the nature of the universe and our place in it.

And given the number of questions addressed to atheists, this section obviously needs us. There's this mutual fascination with people whose beliefs are so different from our own. Though it often leads just to posturing and taunting, there are occasional intrusions of real communication that can be interesting.

You cannot pick and choose what is true and not true out of the bible. Either all of it's true or all of it's not. Logically, if you say that one thing is not true, then how can you possibly say that another thing in it is true? What if you are wrong about what is true and what's not. What if you have believed something in there to be not true, when, in fact, it is. You cannot call yourself a Christian, if you do not believe all of God's Word. God does not tell us to interpret His Word the way we want to. He divinely inspired the writing of the bible, and what it says, goes!

Don't you believe that this section was designed for people who are interested in religion ? I don't think it's just for those who re strongly religious . Many Atheists are very interested in what people believe . I personally have studied literature on all of the world's major beliefs . Have you ?

Atheists are here in a much higher rate than their actual percentage of the population. The say they are here to protect their rights..I have never figured out how posting here would do anything..I think they are just against religion and enjoy attacking it.. I am bothered by the ones that are mature, married, and teachers, that will lash into a young kid. with the most cruel, cutting, remarks I can only ask them to think about some help..I don't think it is heathy to attack on the internet just because no one really knows who you are.

i think of your terrific wager is to examine faith until you discover your place.I hear that going to distinctive church homes facilitates. examine each.Meet with Church leaders who can inform you greater approximately their faith. i'm Christian and that i've got somewhat some hardship concerning to all memories interior the Bible. I even have self assurance that some are metaphors yet I even have self assurance that Jesus became effective. we can not fathom those issues, mind-blowing feats in assessment to something we've ever seen. yet that would not recommend they did not take place. case in point, there is scientific data that the flood did take place in Noah's time. i think of no remember which faith you elect, there will be factors you conflict with greater effective than others. faith is the two effective and complex now and lower back. Even in technology, there are factors of our background that some do disagree on. i wish you discover your way.
