You are absolutely right. We shouldn't choose a spiritual path simply because it offers the best deal, or just in case we might need it. We take advantage of the "buy one, get one free" deals in the supermarket for these reasons. We don't follow a religion because of them.
As long as you are happy and spiritually fulfilled, I'm happy for you! :)

....Or that I make any of life's decisions based on fear of reprisal. A free and responsible search for the truth requires courage and conviction. Sometimes, so does getting out of bed in the morning. I conquered the "what if" factor in my life years and years ago. But, then my spirituality and Conan the Barbarian's have more than a little in common. I'm sincerely doing my best here, and if the gods or "God" does not like it, (Say it with the Austrian accent-) "To hell wit chu!"
The, "You'll burn in hell!" threats are so empty and meaningless to the spiritually and mentally mature. Besides, like Eartha Kitt says, "I'd rather be burned as a witch, than never be burned at all."

Indeed.
You cannot save one who doesnt believe they need saved. I dont understand why some people think thier view on the world is the only view.

My soul is for sale...but I really don't trust Christians with putting it to good use...maybe a Buddhist would be interested.

They don't even think all other Gods are real....yet they can have a talking donkey. I think it's just too difficult for some to understand that others believe differently.

I've been lucky enough to have many friends who are Christian who still manage to accept that I just might know what's best for myself. They don't necessarily agree or understand, but we have better things to talk about than converting each other.

Agreed. The reason proselytization bothers me is because the people who do it have the audacity to believe that it's righteous to get somebody to forsake themselves in order to please others. I don't care if you're a Christian, atheist, pagan, Muslim, whatever... as long as you're being true to yourself in your religion, I have no problem.
