"And they were told to harm no vegetation of the earth nor any green thing nor any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And it was granted the locusts, not to kill them, but that these should be tormented five months, and the torment upon them was as a torment by a scorpion when it strikesa man. And in those days the men will seek death but will by no means find it, and they will desire to die but death keeps fleeing from them."---Revelation 9:4-6

Sincerely: let’s reason together…
Obviously for some, the only way for you to believe in God is if God Himself provided some incontrovertible proof to you personally. No one else can tell you of their “proof”, for you can simply reject such “proof” as a lie, delusion, or brainwashing. Yet, God Himself (IF He exists) could reveal Himself to you in an incontrovertible way.

This is what happened to me. I was an atheist. I sat down to read the Bible to prove it wrong, and the Lord God revealed Himself to me, directly and personally – despite having lived over 20 years without perceiving any evidence of the existence of any so-called god.

So please, for just a moment (if it is possible for you), forget all the “assumptions” and arguments about “how this never happens” or how it has never happened to you, personally…

But consider my situation and answer this:
What am I to do now?

Should I just shrug my shoulders at all my former and current atheist friends...?

Surely if God gave me free will than I can choose not so sin.. and original sin.. when I was a baby I was "born into sin"... why? Why did god judge me on the actions of other man.. it's not very just is it?

Should I judge my newly born son on the actions of his brothers when they were young?

Okay- I know you say God does not exsit but how about we challenge that in a personal way....

What if you in the confines of your own personal space- You for a minute clear your mind, maybe listen to this tune first no distractions
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eiy3_KRKNaQ&feature=related

Then in the quietness of your mind you truly ask GOD to reveal himself to you, ask him, open your heart, recite the sinners prayer
My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner.

Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and wash all my sins away with Your blood.

I invite you into my heart as my personal Savior, and I will follow you the rest of my life.

Tell GOD you have not believed, but are willing to give him a chance if he will give you a chance

You loose nothing, but gain your eternal life.

An argument frequently used by theists is that "nothing comes from nothing", yet by their 'logic' god came from nothing.

So theists, why is it acceptable for god to come from nothing when it isn't for everything else? What is the reasoning behind this?

Imagine I build a robot using the Biblical (or Qur'anic, or whatever) behavioral injunctions as algorithms, so that the robot acts in complete accord with these rules. Will this robot be ethical, or only mimic what some might call ethics? This leads to my actual question; can someone functioning from externally given rules (like those in a book) be called ethical, or are they simply mimicing moral-like behavior?

If Mary never had sex with Joseph then what does the following verse mean? It seems to me to mean Joseph waited until after Mary gave birth and then they had normal marital relations, they had sex. So if they never had sex what does this verse mean? I do not want tradition. I do not want a bunch of explanations of why she had to remain a virgin. I want to know what this verse means.

Matthew 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Mat 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Religio, can be defined as linking backwards or a reverence for what has come to pass.

Biology shows us that the cells that comprise our bodies have been shielded from harsh environments and nourished for eons. Anyone who has tried to culture mammalian cells outside the body knows how difficult this is. Isn't this a more reverent view of life, than the idea that some god just made everything?

To fight over which atheists are true atheists?

Isn't that the same argument, minus God?

I read something last night about someone who thought converted atheists were never "true atheists" in the first place. Excuse me, I'm confused. I thought to only requirement for being in atheist is lack of belief in God. If you don't believe in God, isn't that being an atheist? Regardless of whether you later find a reason to believe in God, for the moment, you are an atheist! Am I wrong in thinking this? Please explain.
