Well, that depends on the reason they don't follow religion.

If they believe in a god but don't hold with all the pomp and circumstance of organized religion, they're probably deists or theists.

If it's because they don't believe in god, that's atheist
If its because they don't knwo what to believe, that's agnostic
If they believe in the christian god but don't go to church because of all the hypocritical christians that flood into those places they would be christian.

From what I can tell, a religion is any belief regarding the supernatural, including beliefs such as 'there is (theist & deist),' 'there is not (atheist),' and 'it doesn't matter (agnostic).' From this, I can conclude that the only one who has no religion is someone who was never introduced to any religious concept, and therefore has no beliefs regarding it.

Clueless.

A "religion" is nothing but an attempt to make a rational and reasonable statement of what you believe in and why.

If your religion is such that you can not state what it is you believe or why, then you are probably clueless about the whole subject.

Lost
I find it highly annoying how Atheists try to claim every single person who just doesn't have a religion. Even they have a religion whether they like to admit it or not.

If they believe in a higher being, they are non-denominational theists. If they don't, they're atheists.
