Wouldn't an old fashioned headscarf work? We used them all the time back in the 70's in West TX where the wind blows something fierce in the spring. I know it would be repurposing an item of clothing, but as long as it's clean, right? Perhaps you could make one yourself. Just some material cut into a square and hemmed.
I remember reading once that some Catholics use a head covering for prayers. You might check with a Catholic bookstore, they may have a better idea.

If you're a bargain shopper you should definitely try a hilal market, Wal-Mart, or any kind of craft store. They carry beautiful, decent scarves! You should be able to get a scarf or headwrap between 3 and 5 dollars. Good luck and i hope i helped!!

They are avaialbe over the web, try searching some amish, menonite, or sacred name (Yahwist) sites. You could make your own. Take an apron with shorter tie and less apron coverage, turn it upside down and you have a scarf like hair covering.

You must go to a scarve shop. Fold the scare and make it like a triangle, then put the centre of the folded sides, around your neck and use a brooch to pin it together.

Yes. I have female Christian friends who wear headcoverings and have purchased them online.

Here's a good place to start:

And if you're interested, this is a Jewish site with headcoverings:

I have seen Jewish prayer shawls used as head coverings. I'm not sure if you only want it for prayer or something other than that, but if its during prayer time, you might want to go the prayer shawl route.

Try a paper bag..you'll find them in most grocery stores.

Or try strapping a soft toy to your head with some ribbon...perhaps a cuddly teddybear would make you look more attractive and original.
