It's been thoroughly debunked and even failed to present a good case to be considered science, yet many religious people still believe that it is a viable contender among origins studies.

and tax money was spent to search for his house at the North Pole... every home was required to keep a supply of cookies and milk... Government buildings posting a list of things Santa found naughty and nice.... your day is often interrupted by people pausing to think about their Christmas list... "One nation with the help of Elves" isn't considered a violation of Church and State because it doesn't specify which elves.... and there was a debate over whether Reindeer Anatomy should be taught in public school --

even if you didn't believe in Santa, would you find yourself debating his existence?

Matthew 7:7-8:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

Questions:
1) When I, as an atheist, sat down to read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to prove it wrong and foolish…why then, did God reveal Himself to me?

Was it that deep within my heart and soul, I was in search of truth…despite attacking the “strawman” of Christianity that I (and society) had created?

2) Why is it that God does not reveal Himself to others, who adamantly state that they did ask, seek, and knock?

Is it because they do not truly seek truth, only seek to “test God”, seek only what they can get from Him rather than seeking God Himself, or aren’t searching with all their heart and soul?

Is the plain reading of this Bible verse and Deuteronomy 4:9 really true and correctly interpreted as such?

What do you think of these quotes:

"If there were no God, there would be no Atheists."
(G. K. Chesterton / 1874-1936 / Where All Roads Lead, 1922)

"The worst moment for the atheist is when he is really thankful and has nobody to thank."
(Dante Gabriel Rossetti / 1828-1882)

According to the Christian faith Yahweh, or Jesus, is a personal god. In other words, people who accept the word of Christ and allow him into their hearts can have a one-on-one relationship with god. They can communicate directly with Jesus.

If god is omniscient and Christians can chat with him then why don’t they just ask god their questions?

Why do Christians even need to use Yahoo Answers?

See no problem with teasing others, and making obsurd comments to theists. I certainly wouldn't like it if someone put a negative character discription on me. I certainly would have a problem if people assumed that I enjoyed being nasty to others.

Do atheists do this, because they feel that they have some humanitarian right or duty to do so? What and/or whom gives them the authority to educate me or any other theists? What makes the atheist point of view the end all to be all?

They seem so desperate for every word of it to make sense, even the Old Testament histories of long-lost kingdoms. Who cares? Christ never said, "The only way into Heaven is memorize every word of the Bible--there will be a test!" He said to treat everyone as you would like to be treated, and that was pretty much it. Where did the Bible-centrism come from?

The way I see it, being agnostic is the truly 'logical' thing to do.

Do you guys just go along with anything Richard Dawkins says? or do you hope that if you repeat the line enough it will become the truth.

If not for GOD?
Why, for instance, did an unstoppable armada of Syrian tanks bound for Tel Aviv in the heat of battle stop when the Israeli army faced almost certain defeat, suddenly turn around and flee the battlefield?

When an Israeli tank commander found himself and his men in the middle of a mine field, why did a mysterious wind storm suddenly descend on them with so much power that it blew away nearly a foot of topsoil and then just as suddenly stopped, revealing the hiding places of thousands of mines so the soldiers could escape unharmed?

Why, during the war for independence, hundreds of Jordanian soldiers approaching the position of a platoon of Israeli soldiers defending Mt. Zion without ammunition, suddenly shout "Abraham" and turn and flee?

Tomorrow I'm going to a funeral for an atheist. My parents- being my parents- hired a Christian CONSULTANT to help set up the funeral... who obviously set it up to be a traditional Christian funeral.

The lady giving the sermon is a very enthusiastic and very forceful preacher who left a bad taste in my mouth from the last funeral I attended (she spent 1 hour talking about how we all need JESUS to be saved- a notion that would have caused the deceased to become VERY angry). I feel her behavior is inappropriate for this funeral- but because I didn't set the thing up, I have no choice in the matter- She's doing it.

Would it be incredibly rude of me, as a pallbearer, to leave during the Church service? I feel giving him a Christian funeral is incredibly disrespectful, and the person whose funeral I am attending was VERY close with me... in my opinion, preaching Jesus at his funeral is doing him a great disservice in this case.

In the religion & spirituality section there are so many questions that just bash on other religions and beliefs for fun. If you go through there and just read the questions and answers, a lot of you sound like elementary kids. I have seen maybe three serious questions here. I understand that if you believe in "god", that's what works for you, but why are you required to change anyone who doesn't believe? Same with people who do not believe. I agree with you, but you don't want them trying to change you, so why are you trying to change them? Just wondering, and mainly venting.
