.

How is it that the prophet Jeremiah who was mentioned in the Bible that he was sanctified in his mother's womb (Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations); yet Jeremiah died of his sins.

1) Where in the Bible that said that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was sanctified in her mother's womb?
2) Even if she is sanctified in her mother's womb, how come your God is preferential that Mary is immaculately conceived, but the prophet Jeremiah with Scripture warrant was not immaculately conceived??

Have you ever had to give up something you really enjoyed because you HAD to do something else? Then you know how I feel right now.

I have big exams coming up and Y!A is SO addictive- keeping me up odd hours since I'm in a wild time zone, and I keep on telling myself "One more question, just one more question" until dawn! So I just HAVE to stay away for a while.

I've learnt so much being here from my brothers and sisters from all over the world. I love you guys very much and keep up the fine work!

My account is still open, email me anytime.

Let's remain faithful so that 3 John 14 may come true for us!

I can't find any place in the Bible where it says Evolution did not occur. Scientist have presented clear evidence that it has. What is Christian objection to Scientific fact that their Bible doesn't dispute?

Its true. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, that means God is on the left, which means the left is better than the right. All power to left handers!

I'm not on drugs. Imagine what I'd be like if I were?

Does this explain why many of us are happy to drive our gas guzzlers to oblivion and pollute as much as we like, wage war like there's no tomorrow and elect a president who has driven the US foreign relations and economy down the deepest drain. After all it doesn't really matter if Jesus is about to whisk us all off to heaven in a couple of decades right?

Source: Sam Harris quoting a Gallup poll

"22% of Americans claim to be certain, literally certain that Jesus is going to come down out of the clouds sometime in the next 50 years. Another 22% think he probably will sometime in the next 50 years."

Yup! I'm 46 again!

I'm a Sagittarian! November 24.

Do you read your horoscope every day, religiously, or at least on days when you come across it in a newspaper? Or never at all?

Luv ya!

...As monoliths bashing & crashing against each other like Godzilla vs. Mothra they seem oddly unaware of thier similarities in wanting society with a moral compass, with children who learn morals, respect for elders, compassion for the downtrodden, etc....

Doesn't all this battling seem useless spent energy?

I went to church with my wife, and heard them singing that hymn; and as I listened to the lyrics, it suddenly hit me:

THIS WHOLE THING IS A BIG HELP.

Jesus is that great imaginary friend, for people who can't deal with stuff, and for people who understand what it's like not being able to deal with stuff, or for people who would like something better than reality to deal with, etc, etc.

Jesus is that great hope and wish -- and surely somewhere in their innermost souls they must realize it doesn't exist; but it's a nice thought, and something nice to sing about.

"In his arms he'll take and shield you..."

Question: Do you really need an imaginary friend?

I am just curious and all are welcomed to leave their view point so:
1. no thumbing down others because
2. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.
3. no obscene language though

Those who don't know him, i respect your opinions but please do NOT post them and thanks in advance everyone.

This question is for those of any religion who believe in the survival of the soul after death. We know that memory can be destroyed through physical damage to the brain. We also know that who you are (personality, emotional self, moral sense) can be altered through damage or chemical changes. Therefore, what is it of whatever makes you into 'you' do you believe survives the physical death of the body?

I saw a hoodie today at WalMart that had the crucified Jesus on it. He had the thorns in his head and blood running down his face. In all honestly to me it looked creepy and morbid.
Anyone actually wear this stuff?

Do we live forever as a soul in heaven or are we born again into a new person? I'm scared of death I don't know what happens I'm confused. Could we be born into a starving kid in ethiopia, a rich kid in the suburbs, a dirt poor kid with no home??

A) An acceptable "starting point" toward complete and total gay marriage, ie, a victory, OR

B) A completely unacceptable "second-class citizen" ranking that should be avoided, nothing is acceptable except total equality. OR

C) Completely acceptable and would be fine if there were two systems, civil unions and marriage. OR

D) Other?

Members of the LDS faith start your answer by LDS and the rest of you out there.. Christian or not just type non-LDS..
I've been living in mormonville (Provo, UT) for about two years now and I have been amazed by these peoples.. for mormons describe how you still beleive in your faith despite of the following points.. for non-members of the LDS church, give me a reasonable explanation how such a religion could still exist after 200 years despite of these points

1)The book of Mormon (a second bible to the mormons) is based on some golden plates that ONLY joseph smith saw and surprisingly nobody else was able to find them till today!
2)Utah was granted statehood only after it agreed to stop polygamy in the ranks of the church. God told the prophet then that it's ok to stop polygamy
3)God told the prophet to impose tithing right around the great depression
4) priesthood was given to blacks right after the civil rights movement..

co-incidence.. at least i don't think so.. what do u think
