I need to write about how news programmes portray religious people as being out of touch with the modern world.
Can anyone give me some examples of this and off thier opinions on this (the more detail the better!)

Just watch CNN for an hour or so, or pick up a Time magazine.

religion in general IS out of touch with the modern world. most religions were made or discovered like a couple thousand years ago when most people in history didnt even like the idea that the earth was a sphere. even today with all the science, medicine, new cultural way of life, etc etc religious groups think everything out of thier religion can co exist with the modern. example, many religions dehumanize women but religious groups ignore this because its not what they want to believe or hear and make up excuses....but if your so faithful to the world of whatever book or religious word...why not go by it word for word? oh! isnt it because then our world/culture would be like the middle east? religions are also not open to change....they only approve of change if it follows thier religious beliefs such as medicines. medicines are okay since it helps our loved ones live longer....but when if comes to stuff like they theory of evolution then ITS A HUGE NO.

The Modern World moves on or understands only science and facts. The religion speaks on belief and prospects. If the things
that happen in the modern world are like fruits of the tree, the religious belief and prospects are like seed of the same tree.
How many do really could tell that there are a number of fruits of the same kind in a seed of a tree?This way we may take or guess many realistic happenings to understand the question
under reference.

Relgious people out of touch...
1. car bombs in Middle east, daily
2. People banning the word "Christmas"....IN THE USA!!
3. Islams beleiveing that "if you aint Islam, you shoud be killed"
4. Chirstmas trees being re-named to "Holiday Trees"
5. Towns banning mulit-colored lights for decorations
6. Towns banning nativity scenes

i have seen it on shows like law and order....Religious people in those shows are portrayed as uneducated and most of the time Crazy, and liers

go to church on sunday --they're out of touch pretty much daily
