Misunderstanding the literary meaning of the verses leads division of people. Why don’t we understand the Quintessence or essence of them?

If you do so, you will realize all are one and the same. We are seperating the people with it

The Washington State Constitution, under the Declaration of Rights, Article 1, Section 7: "INVASION OF PRIVATE AFFAIRS OR HOME PROHIBITED. No person shall be disturbed in his private affairs, or his home invaded, without authority of law."

It would be logical to assume that most (if not all) states have a similar (if not identical) right listed in their own Constitutions; in a nutshell, a legal "Right to Privacy".

So, how do you justify coming onto a person's property every Sunday (and sometimes weekdays), pounding on their front doors (and generally disturbing their peace), and shoving your own personal religious beliefs down their throats???

As an agnostic, I do have beliefs and theories; but you will NEVER find me imposing them onto other people -- because I know that each and every person on this planet has every right to their own beliefs, FREE from the condemnation by others.

I'm NOT looking for attacks here; I'm just curious...

Curious what people think.

you hear different definitions of different religions. they say that it means a certain thing, or that certain things are what define someone to be in that group or not.

for example, I have heard some argue that figures that died long before islam came to be, were "muslim" on the definition that their devotion to God makes it so they qualify. this has a certain point to it I think.

and some say that a christian is someone who follows and tries to be like Jesus.

if I do my best to follow God's Will, and worship only God, does that mean I count as a Muslim?

if I think that Jesus probably had alot of good things to say, and would have liked to be able to listen to him and discuss things and learn from him, and follow his lead as a role model, would I count as a Christian?

and what does it say about these definitions, that one could fulfill both, without beliving in much of what the general population of either group, belives in?

Actually the answer is very simple.

You do anything in life.

The one which brings you closer to god then it is right (good)
The one which takes you away from god is wrong (bad)

How do you know ….

God is there is within you and me. We name it as Undher Athma, inner self or conscious. It tells you all the time what is right or wrong.

Most of the time we don’t listen to it
Most of the time we hear it but neglect it
Some times we go against it, as we cannot control our desires

Can we listen to our inner self and change from today. Trust me we do that we can be great individuals.

That the Catholic church killed Galileo? And that his sentence to house arrest had to do with theories that the earth isn't flat?

I just read that in an answer...are there really people who believe that? And if you're one of those people, where did you read/hear that?

Just curious. Not trying to be disrespectful.

Start with a bacterium. Does it have a soul and does it get an afterlife? A bacterium is a cell membrane filled with a variety of molecules. These molecules react together in different ways to create what we call life. Although all of these molecules are reacting in fascinating, interlocking ways, they are still nothing more than chemicals reacting. The "miracle of life" is no miracle -- it is a big chemical reaction. When those reactions stop, the cell is dead.

Now here is the question: When the bacterium dies, does it get an afterlife?

There are not many people in the United States who believe that bacteria go to heaven. The Bible does not talk about heaven being filled with all the disease, putrefaction and pestilence that bacteria cause. And what, exactly, would go to heaven? Do all of the bacterium's molecules get transported to another dimension so that they can keep reacting? If that were happening, there would be thousands of tons of chemicals leaving earth every day.

Does this explanation of a pope make sense?

The pope is the head of the Catholic church and is the main spiritual leader.
He lives in Vatican City.
The pope's main job is to make final decisons when it comes to keeping or changing the Catholic tradition.

Thank-You.

Should we normalize every tradition, as if it something that we all just do on a certain day of the year? What ever happened to the cultural meaning and the significance of traditions? Should we set aside why we have traditions, just for the sake of doing something every year that is fun for everyone?

My teacher in my religions class told us that the adam and eve story as been interpreted as a metaphor by some scholars as something I found really interesting.
He said in this metaphor the eve isn't literally offering adam the forbidden fruit but is offering sex, this could be why they have to cover the private areas when god gets angry and why woman is cursed with childbearing pain (because life is created through sex) Anyways....
I am really interested in it and want to know if you've heard about it, what you think of it, I would love further info or facts that could point to this being true, or any good websites. Thank you.

I keep seeing Muslims insisting how the whole world would live in peace if everyone converted to Islam.

That sounds way too good to be true, and when I see true news reports like the ones found here...

http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

I wonder why these kinds of things only seem to be happening in Islamic countries, where the rule of the land is Sharia, and people are not allowed to preach any religion other then Islam.

According to so many Muslims here, countries such as USA and UK are breeding grounds for evil, because they are predominantly Christian.

If Islam is so peaceful, why do Islamic countries still have so much rape, murder, and violence?

The Old Testament prophet Malachi predicted Elijah would"come first" to herald the coming of Jesus Christ .John the Baptist denied it was him--Yet Christ declared John the Baptist was indeed Elijah the Prophet--which one of them was correct??
Truly I say to you ... there has not been raised of those born of women greater than John the Baptist. ... For all the prophets and the Law prophesied up to the time of John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elias ... the one about to come. The one having ears, let him hear” (Mt 11:9-14).

BETWEEN A FATHER AND HIS DAUGHTERS: (a) "That night they (both the daughters of Lot) gave him (their father Lot) wine to drink and the older daughter had INTERCOURSE with him ... "The next day the older daughter said to her sister, I slept with him last night. now let's get him drunk again tonight, and you sleep with him. Then each of us will have a child by our father. So that night they got him drunk and the younger daughter had INTERCOURSE with him ... "In this way both of Lot's daughters became PREGNANT by their father. In the older Versions, like the King James and the Roman Catholic Versions, "SEXUAL INTERCOURSE" is vaguely described as "COLLECTING THE SEED OF OUR FATHER." INCE

People vie for a world without wars, but with our race being the most warlike of known species.. Is it truely possible?

Even if we do remove wars, it would effect the economic structure of things, not to mention the food chain. It is safe to say that a large % of government money is from arms deals and wars do (as much as you may not want to hear it) keep the population numbers from getting too high.

Thus, since we have waged war from as early as tribes of cavemen, can we REALLY live in a world without war?
