Excellent point Gentleman. When you perceive the essence of what the Scriptures of every religion are saying you come to the same or very similar conclusion.I have yet to study a single religion that says go kill your neighbor, covet your friends wife,Start wars with your countries neighbors.rape, destroy, commit arson,or do anything immoral you can think of.In Christianity it's The Ten Commandments, and with all other religions it is the same.Love your neiborbor,do not commit transgressions ,help those who are in need, always do what your heart and conscience tell you are the right thing to do.Do not be greedy,self-centered,vain,or deceitful.I never could understand why we fight when we are all saying the same thing. Why is that so difficult to understand? It as though every religion should call God Hypocriscy. We listen to the Scriptures,we vow to be good to each other,we swear to wipe greed and other senseless diseases like it off the Earth. Then the next day we are back to our old ways of trickery, lying, cheating, stealing and all those diseases that will eventually destroy civilization. It all starts when one person says my Scriptures are more True than your Scriptures or my Religion is Truer than your Religion and the fighting starts all over.WHY?Gentleman your point is well taken ,we must convince each other that we are all after the same things. How much money does it take to be rich? Why does one man have to have more power than the next? Why do people who have everything they need look up to the rich and powerful like they were Gods and the way to be a god is to be like them, liars thieves, adulterers etc. They have brains as you and I...Why is it like this????? Your Pal larry m.

The original intent was that we would do just that, agree on the essence of the verses. However, ego reared it's ugly head, and some folks insisted that they were right and all the rest of y'all were wrong... The thing is, because we mature at different rates, there will always be a difference in our understanding of scriptures. The more mature we get the better, and more in-depth, we understand. However, the ability to love each other, and at the same time disagree on the letter of the law, but respecting your brothers thoughts, feelings, opinions, that's what love's all about, isn't it?
The separation of people, the divisiveness, is exactly what Satan intends when he creates dissention about the interpretation of the word. It's one really great way to get people distracted from their purpose, and that is simply to love...

I agree. I sometimes don't understand what in u r saying. So i ask u what u meant by that right away, because i wouldn't like to assume anything that is not intentional. But, sometimes I do take things literally probably my ignorance. But I think u have a good point. But debating about it isn't gonna get u anywhere, but the best thing to do is to ask and understand the true meaning that is hidden in the sentence. 4 example, take the bible, some people always interpret it soo literally that they never get the whole point of the parables or the morals that is inscibed in it. They never stop asking questions because they don't think too deep into it. So as a christian, I always try to explain it to them because i know that sometimes I am like that tooo.

Why even bother typing quintessence if you're just going to clarify essence, anyway?
The essence of the verses are irretrievable. You cannot know the feelings of the men who put the pen to paper, nor their thoughts or intentions because times are so very different, the language was so very different, and our minds are even wired to believe things fundamentally different from what was believed back then. All that -can- be done is quibble over the literary meaning of the phrases. If you believe you can get some sort of psychic impulse of the original intention of the writers, you're delusional, mon ami.

Thank you, your question and understanding is refreshingly true.
That is exactly the point of the ego, to make people feel and be separate, right and valid.
Ridiculous isn't it.
As though people are that gullible to be lead by others low self-esteem, confusion and anger.
Stay connected to all that is, do not separate from the source of light and love, not for anything or anybody.
Peace in the heart of all
God is Gracious

true friend! thiss is a sad truth as well. people dont have time! they just dont want to knw. they only want to get on with life and prove they are good by arguing! it is ego. Not wanting to look deep into it is either they dont want to admit or they are afraid of the truth as they dont want to be proved wrong! i think this is the reason......... my brain is not working properly these days actually. dont know why. a bit tough to find the essense of the things ou have written. sorry.still, i have done my best which is my best at the moment. i always put my best to everything i do. see you!

You are absolutely correct Gentleman, we never understand the essence& if at all we understand we never put into practice what the scriptures say. That is the biggest draw back in all religions & we only keep saying ours is the best.

Po ems in abundance. Some elegant, some poor. I separated "poems" intentionally, it's a word that can be pronounced with either one or two syllables. And the same is true for you 'n' me. This is a neat li'l thing. It is within the rules. Thanks, T.D.
