I think the only reason it's being opposed is because it is new. When asprin first came out it was opposed by religious people on this idea: If you have a headache, it's because of your sins and you deserve it. When the first abdominal surgury came about, there was a huge uproar because it was not meant to happen. This is something that could make to human race faster, stronger, live longer, and better in a lot of ways. What do you think?

Hi, I'm Tom. I know this is a weird question, but I'm asking it anyways. What I want to do is go on a pilgrimage to meet a wise-man/woman that can enlighten me to life. I know it sounds like some bad fantasy story; so if you are going to say something sarcastic, just leave. But if you have a real answer, please post. I have no problem selecting no best answer if I don't receive any good answers.

Listen! Do not read the Bible. Obviously you won't believe it if you go in with a negative mind already. Research where each book came from. And check the validity of them. Agnostic researchers have concluded how old the manuscripts are and directly translated it! It is exactly the same. You have to have an open mind. Be strong in your unbelief but just research where the bible came from. Not the bible itself. This is probably useless but maybe there's one atheist out there who hasn't hardened their ears to God's word. If you just research with an open mind you will see.

background research of the bible. One atheist did it a journalist for Inquirer he started listing the facts of the bible and listed why he doesn't believe. He found it would take more faith to believe in atheism rather than God is real.

I understand he had some visions beginning when he was about 14 years old - but will someone please explain to me how these so-called visions became so credible? What was it about this kid that was so dog-gone believable? Something doesn't make sense to me about the Mormon Faith - but before I start bashing it, I at least want to know why Joseph Smith's visions gained such wide acceptance and authority?

Any Mormons or others who might have insight? Here is the link I am reading now.....if there are other good ones, please let me know. Thank you!

Here's how the universe came to be and if you deny this, may God help you! According to classical Greek theology, Chaos existed in the beginning, and then gave birth to Gaia (the Earth), Tartarus (the Underworld), Eros (desire), Nyx (the darkness of the night) and Erebus (the darkness of the Underworld). That's basically how life, the universe and everything began.

Now I know you might be dissuaded by some of parts of Greek mythology. The unbelievable parts that have all those mythical creatures like the hydra and the gorgon (medusa). But modern scholars say these creatures were actually DINOSAURS! See the word dinosaur was coined in the 1800s so the Greeks didn't have the exact word to describe all the giant reptiles so they used words like hydra and gorgon instead.

Does it all make sense now? Good.
So why don't you atheists accept creationism!?

Why do some of you spew hate? you can't wait to point fingers for who goes to hell. You call other religions evil and hell bound. You tell good people if you don't accept your message about Jesus right away they could die tomorrow and go to hell. So many are anti gay and intolerant of many beliefs. Keep in mind not everyone will ever believe everything you say. Than some of you go on to critique other religions and call them false or say Wiccans are witches when you haven't looked in depth at it.
And my favorite is when people call evolutionists evil because Satan made it. ok im done with my rant heres the end point? Is this something Jesus would ever do to people?

Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance. 2 Timothy 2:23

why do non-denominational people follow it? God did not write a book, and even their own Bible never mentioned that God wrote a book, so what makes them think the Bible is not man-made?

I understand that people do not go to their Temples for the purpose of corporate worship. Is there any time that Mormons gather for corporate worship? If so, where and when? If not, why not? Thanks.
