I understand that people do not go to their Temples for the purpose of corporate worship. Is there any time that Mormons gather for corporate worship? If so, where and when? If not, why not? Thanks.

By corporate worship, I mean when as a body of believers, not as an individual, you come together for the sole purpose of expressing worship to God. This can be done with song, with prayer and thanksgiving, for example. I hope that this clarifies what I mean.

Ordinarily, we Latter-day Saints worship in our meetinghouses every Sunday by partaking of the Sacrament, attending the various Sunday Schools, and then the Relief Society for the women and the priesthood classes for the ordained men.

Temple attendance is for the express purpose of performing sacred ordinances for ourselves and our deceased ancestors. It is also the time to draw nearer to our God and to feel His Spirit within as we commune in prayer while reverently basking in sacred peace and calmness. There are no established worship services in the temples--only sacred ordinances that cannot be performed elsewhere.

Visiting the temples can only be done by those holding current recommends by the bishop and stake president. Not every Mormon can enter the temple of the Lord.

We do gather together to worship on Sundays.

In most ways the temple can be a place for group worship as well. We have stake and ward nights. We have chapel sessions and solemn assemblies. I feel the work in the temple is more reverent and worship filled than a regular Sunday.

In olden times, most believers had a firm grasp on the fact that when they gathered “as a church” (1 Cor. 11:18), their worship was to be a corporate expression. Church worship was not a gathering of individuals but of the body of Christ.

Using that as a definition of corporate worship (anytime we gather as a group to do Christ's work) LDS gather on Sundays for priesthood/relief society teachings, for sunday school teachings, and for sacrament meeting as a ward - we also have stake (several wards in an area comprise a stake) meetings twice a year, and general conferences (whole church worldwide listens in via broadcast) twice a year.

There is also mutual activities for young men and women, youth projects, gyc, etc. for the youth and a relief society learnign session for women who work in other callings and cannot attend on sundays during the week.

Hope that answers your questions.

I have no idea what you mean by "corporate worship".

Mormons have Sunday meetings in churches every week. Is that what you mean? These services have 3 different parts and last a total of about 3 hours.

Anyone (Mormon or otherwise) is invited to meet with us and worship and study with us.

I am not sure what you mean by corporate worship. To me that sounds like worshiping a CEO or money, but I am sure it is a legitimate term that I am just not familiar with. If you want to email me and explain what you mean, and I will answer your questions. You can also check out the link below to see what our Sunday services are like.

The temples are for receiving special ordinances and only those in good standing and worthiness participate in temple worship.
However, each Sunday on the Sabbath, local congregations of Mormons meet in weekly worship services in chapels. At those worship services,. which are open to anyone wishing to participate, the sacrament is administered, sermons are given, and doctrine is taught in "Sunday school" classes. Again, members and non members alike are welcome to participate in the weekly worship services.

We go to church every Sunday to worship the Lord, and talk about how we can follow Jesus Christ example. Is that what you mean??

i do no longer care in case you obtain it from a fortune cookie. My faith comes from Christ, the author and finisher of my faith. Why might I worship devil? Get genuine. we are all little childrens of God. a minimum of our spirits are. yet in undemanding terms one guy or woman in this universe is the Son of God. Jesus insisted that he became into Jehovah. He additionally stated as himself, on over 30 events, the Son of the guy [Reina-Valera], or the son of the God who shaped guy in his very own photograph. Paul additionally taught, needless to say (that is nonetheless there for the undemanding eye to confirm), that there are a number of incredibly divine beings, gods and lords, besides as many things, genuine, intangible, and imaginary, that are incorrectly stated as such; yet for us there is in undemanding terms one God. He would additionally be the appropriate of all of them. there are a number of lords, or divine beings of a decrease classification, yet in undemanding terms one in all them is our Savior or redeemer. So Israelitish history, the Bible, and my church are all in contract. on the initiating Israelites have been monolaters. Monotheism is an uninspired heresy cooked up by making use of human philosophers in the time of the Babylonian Exile. it's time to get lower back on your non secular roots, whether you do no longer understand them.
