1. dont even think of mentioning the word faith, saying "its called faith man!" is not proof, it isnt intelligent, and it isnt going to get you anywhere with me.

2. do not ask me to prove that god doesnt exists. the burden is on you to prove that he does since you are the one claiming that god exists. besides, if there is absolutley no evidence either way (and there is a ton for my side) then i think the burden falls on the ones with less proof to explain themselves

3. Do not think about bringing up miracles, science has proven that thousands of so called miracles are totally explainable and not the result of god.

4. Dont talk to me about how i am a lost soul or a bad person. I am happier than i ever was when i tried to be religious. there is one thing i hold above all else, The TRUTH. and the truth is a funny thing. we all know what the truth is deep down in our hearts, we just have to be strong enough to accept it.

please respond only with logical proof's or disproof's

I was walking to the sporting goods shop after school last Friday to get myself the red Dwyane Wade jersey that I have always wanted. It's exactly $20. When I got to the plaza, a homeless man in his fifties approached me. He told me he hadn't eaten for 4 days and asked for money. I had a 20 dollar bill and 65 cents in one pocket.

I considered splitting the 20 and giving him maybe 3-4 dollars. But I wouldn't have $20 anymore. And the bank would never let me go in because I'm 13 and my parents weren't with me.

In the end, I just gave him 65 cents. I think I should have been more generous. I could easily wait a couple more days to buy that jersey.

I THINK he later saw me walk out of the store, so he knew I had more money than that. I felt really guilty. He and I also had a brief chat about Jesus, and he asked me to pray for him too. That makes me feel even worse because he knows I'm a Christian, but I didn't give my all for him the way Jesus would have. Was I too selfish?

OK, this really happened to me so don't get all offended by the specifics.

I'm an atheist. My sister is not. She's been taking her kids to church the last few months and a few weeks back my five year old nephew told me the following: "When I get sick, Jesus pukes and that's how I get better". As an atheist, what should I have done in that situation?

(Also, in that scenario I kinda feel bad for Jesus. That's a lot of puking he has to do every day in order to allow sick people to get better.)

since we have freedom of religion here in the u.s., i can only assume we have the right to form new religions so long as they are not unconstitutional in their nature. that being said, if someone formed a new religion such that homosexual marriage was deemed ok, on what grounds would you deny them their constitutional right to get married?

I am not interested in Christianity, Judaism, or Islam - so don't even try it.

I was thinking about joining a Unitarian church - but I'm not really into activism and social justice - or the pressures of donation. I do like their other principles.

I want to be able to go to a place that doesn't judge you or expect anything of you. I just want to learn more about spirituality and the interconnectedness of things.

The library is lonely - and I've tired of self-study.

Where can I go? Are there spiritual centers? Should I just take classes at the Annex? What do you do?

Please respect the community guidelines as you answer.

I'm tying to get the Bok of the Dead for christmas (and for those of you that have seen my other presents posted on here YES all my christmas presents are Books, i like reading ^_^)

Well anyway, my parents can't buy it unless i can found out who wrote it, that way they get the right one. (And it Has to be the one that KemeticReconstructionists use)

Thanks!

Someone did this earlier, and I thought seeing the diversity was pretty neat. So lets do another twist on it.

1. Religion (Christian/Mustlim/Atheist(yes I know it isn't a religion), don't have to be specific)

2. Profession/Career

3. Expertise in your field on a scale from 1-10

I'll Start.

1. Christian
2. Software Engineer
3. 8

If we do not have souls, then what makes us human? Does it have to do with our experiences or is it some kind of balance between our productivity and consumption. If we consume more then we produce (like elderly or infants) might we be euthenized?
