Yes, Gold would make a terrible building material; the physical properties, and economically because of the cost.

It certainly would. Pure gold (24 carat) is very soft, which is why it is often alloyed with 66% of other metals to form 9 carat gold, which is much harder and abrasion resistant.

nah man gold was used up untill the 20th century as wiring in houses it is still sturdy when applied and cut right and still today as decoration i mean they didnt have steel but at the same point things went bad they could sell chunks of thier houses for cash u know and still be ok
