Assuming you had no choice but to give up your child, who would you rather adopt him or her?
A loving and committed same-sex couple with a stable income,
or
An always-fighting straight couple struggling to make ends meet?

Mancloud- seeing how I'm a Christian myself I don't have much "intensity of non-belief" and I'd go with the first option.

Ark- how on earth is this "troll baiting"? It's a perfectly valid question.

Mancloud- it's all good. You should post the question, it would be interesting to see the answers.

Honestly, I think that the answer should be quite simple. Why would I want to put my child in a situation where he/she were surrounded by yelling and screaming, and I didn't have the assurance that they were taken care of? The gay couple of course. If people cared about their children, they shouldn't even have to think twice.

Ok, this is really bad...but it popped into my head so I feel like I should ask. Is the same sex couple male or females? Yes, that probably shouldn't matter, but if I am going to answer honestly, then I have to know.
Edit: Ok, I don't feel as bad now that others have the same feeling. I wouldn't want 2 men raising my young child, gay or straight. I think young children need the love of a mother. That is why it would matter to me, if the gay couple were women...then the question becomes easy. If they are men...then I can't give an honest answer...I'm conflicted.

You forgot the real option here pal. A gay Christan couple or an angry straight duo are fine... but what about a pair of genetically enhanced, heter-homo-sexual bears with a pretense for family values and an ever increase urge to destroy the none stop parade of pillaging dinosaur migrations?
When THAT **** hits the fan, you want those grizzlies takin' care of your children, not some pansy humans!

good question!
I think that any couple that are stuggling to support themselves without a child are not in a position to care as well as they could for a child,
I think that there is too much hung up on same sex couples, the more important aspect for me would be the safety and quality of life for the child involved therefore I would always choose the couple that would be best for the child, regardless of sexual orientation.

I'm not Christian, but I'm gonna go ahead and add my two cents.
Being non-religious, if I have to make this decision, I would choose the pair that would provide the most love and stability and whom my kids liked the most. Regardless if they were Christian, Hindu, Jewish or Atheist. Kids have a 6th sense about people sometimes and can tell who is good beyond their sexuality or religion or race. If they happened to be gay, that wouldn't bother me a bit.

Loving and comitted is important. I would not have a problem with a nice lesbian couple. I would not want two men raising my kids. Not becuase they are Gay. But because they are men, Men are generally pigs. I know because im a man. Women are better less selfish.
Money isnt everything either. Most rich kids I know are spoiled little rotten selfish little heartless republicans. So I would think twice about having my Kids raised by a Rich person. Stable is nice but Not Rich.

wonderful question rachel. I would definitly choose the same sex couple. They obviously could provide a better and more happy lifestyle for my child.
(and since being gay isnt a choice, I dont have to worry about my child's sexual orientation being affected by them)

Atheist here, but I had to butt in
Same question to you with these choices
A loving and committed Christian couple who would love and bring up the child beautifully, BUT would insist on raising the child as a Christian
OR
Some angry Atheists who liked a drink.
(just wanted to get your feedback on the intensity of your non-belief).
*My apologies, I shouldn't have assumed. But, still, might be an interesting question to judge other peoples waryness of religion.

The same sex couple. (I know I'm gonna take a lot of hate for this but both as a Christian and a parent, that would be my choice)
Blessed Be
