Leviticus 20:13

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

I know that being gay is wrong, Lev 18:22 tells us this. Does this verse mean they should actually be killed?

I'm doing a project for my World Religions class and part of the project is listing Hinduism Liabilites. My professor wants to know the negative effects of Hinduism and bad "events" brought on by the religion. I'm not looking for a religious debate, just some information. Thanks!

If you define religion as "A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion" in order to classify atheism as a religion, wouldn't such a definition also include jet-skiing enthusiasts, gay right activists, Trekkies, role playing gamers, even lawyers or bus drivers or teachers or janitors (so long as they pursue their cause or activity with zeal and devotion), etc?

Do you really think the standard for classifying something as a "religion" is set so low?

Or can we all agree that the word is defined as such for use in the context of describing a habitual or customary behavior? As in "I'm up every morning at 5am to jog 3 miles; I do it religiously" or "He follows the Nicks games religiously as he considers himself their biggest fan".

I have many times asked whether, in our neighborhood, the amputee down the street, Mr. Farber, will get a new leg if everybody fervently pray for him.

On this question it seems that Christians and Atheists agree: In effect, you can pray til you're blue in the face, and he'll never get a new leg.

Question: Is this maybe the beginning of common ground that I have long sought in my heart and soul? The beginning, just a small beginning, of common ground, between our atheist citizens and our christian citizens?

Oh please dear imaginary God say yes!

am not objecting to Christians enjoying the priviledges of modern technology. What I object to are the self-righteous morons who claim to be ~exceptionally~ loyal to the bible, but will not sell some of their luxuries to help other people. Idiots like Westboro, for instance, who wage God's "war" on gays. If they were soooo commited to God's word, then they won't need computers, lots of clothes etc to do this when the riches of heaven are far better.

Anyone agree?

I am in Pakistan, in the district of Toba Tek Singh of Pir Mahel. I am an American woman. This is not my first trip here. My father in law has had the news on ever since the blasts were shown. Today he went to a couple of funerals. His best friend died in the blasts and another friend of his lost his son in the blasts. According to the people of Pakistan and the song of tribute that's been playing on the news and the Asian channels, the victims are the martyrs and the terrorists are in hell. This is an Islamic country.

Does this show you that we Muslims see the victims as the martyrs and not the unIslamic anti Islam suiciders? We don't support the terrorists. We are against them. We see their victims as being martyrs.

What is your take on this?

Why haven't you consider that you might have jumped to the conclusion that this experience is religious and not chemical/biological, and also jumped to the conclusion that this event relates to your particular religious upbringing?

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY:

This is a very SINCERE question, and I--as a Muslim--want to hear your honest opinions...I have respect for the Christian religion, and know there are many sincere Christians who do great things..

Honestly--What is your PERSONAL OPINION about today's mega-church Ministers, Preachers, and Pastors who are millionares who drive luxury cars, fly in private jets, and live in multi-million dollar homes?

Not saying that God doesnt want us to have wealth--because even I want wealth--but is it OK to use the church to build personal wealth?...

Also: How do you feel about the "Tiding" and the requirement that 10 percent of your income be given to The Church--as opposed to giving 10% of your income to feed the homeless, build schools in Africa, etc.?

How do you feel about all of this?

I believe in Jesus' return and that it will happen within my lifetime. It will be a literal, visual, audiable return, everyone will know it is happening. There will be no secret rapture as some think. Are you ready to meet Him when He returns in the Clouds of Heaven?

Galatians 5:22-23 tells us, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..." The fruit of the Holy Spirit are the results of the Holy Spirit taking a role in the life of a Christian.

I have seen many Chistian Denominations bashing not only their doctrinal differences here on R & S, but also throwing personal instults and name calling. Is this the work of Jesus in your heart? If it is not Jesus, then who is it?
