Yes, there are many laypersons in the Catholic Church who are single.

Not all people are given to marriage and not all people are given to Holy Orders. One must do one's best to worship the Lord and live according to His will no matter what our marital status or vocation is.

Some are called to a life in Holy Matrimony. Others are not. Therefore, you can safely conclude there is nothing wrong with being a single lay Catholic.

A Catholic can have the vocation of a
+ Lay single person
+ Lay married person
+ Religious single person
+ Religious married person (there are many married deacons and a few married priests, see: http://www.corpus.org/Page.cfm?Web_ID=577)

The most important thing is to discern to what vocation God is calling you.

the Catholic Church has millions of single lay-persons that are members - nothing wrong with it.
