The bible calls it the "sinful nature." (HATRED)

The fruit of the Holy Spirit are in direct contrast with the acts of the sinful nature in Galatians 5:19-21, "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21 is what people are like, to varying degrees, when they do not know Christ and therefore are not under the influence of the Holy Spirit.

Bella,
I have no idea why such people feel the need to be noticed at all. I would not want people to even know that I was that hateful. I try not to be so. When my blood sugars become excessively high or low there are times that I have said things that I would not normally say. Does that make sense? There are also a number of people out there who have no real sense of hope in this world and feel that they must do so. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

PS... I am sorry if someone mistreated you.

When I first came to R&S I was angry at christianity and christians. It seemed like an easy outlet to vent my anger and frustration. The truth was I was really hurting inside form situations that had religion in common. There were a few people who saw through my anger to my hurt and were kind to me. They acknowledged my hurt and taught me not to generalize. If you could see these "hateful" people as broken, injured, hurt, how would that affect how you react and respond to them? I am not saying it is okay to spew hatred. There are other healthier ways to deal with hurt and anger...but sometimes we just need a kind word. Hope this helped.

Well, let's see now....HMMM...

1. Public forum -
2. 1st Amendment
3. In American, we are all entitled to our own opinions
4. Freedom of expression

When you go on a public forum to ask questions or give answers, you must expect to have people who disagree with what you say and who also have the right to spew anything they want.....as long as it is within the community guidelines set by the forum..in this instance...set by Yahoo.

If you don't want to hear opinions and answers that conflict with yours or that might offend you, then don't participate in public forums...especially in a subject that is so controversial.

Because this is where the people they hate congegate. It is more a question of why do they hate who they do. Not why do they come here to hate. This site is simply a place of conveniece to spew hate. You hit lots of people for the price of one post plus you get others who support and encourage the hate. I am sure there is plenty of hate going around on the politics board.

I can only answer for Christians and give my opinion on the rest. It angers me any time I see a hateful, rude, or sarcastic Christian on here. Christ said those who come to know Him will come to know Him through love and peace and it sickens me to see Christians acting the opposite way.

As for others, my opinion would be this:

I think atheists come here because of conviction. Some say they don't believe in God yet can't seem to leave the section about Him. Almost as if they are looking for answers but don't want to admit they are. Others are here because they have no proof that God doesn't exist, so they try to degrade the evidence that we do have of Him. They can't stand up for their own beliefs so they try to bring our beliefs down.

I can't say I've ever seen a hateful Jew, Muslim, or Hindu on here. But maybe I'm just not paying attention.

Honestly, some are actually curious. Some really want an answer, and some want to try to knock people down. Same as any other subject. This one just take a little more creativity. I think it challenges their thinking. So we should take it as a blessing, not an inconvenience because it will challenge our patience as well.
Edit:
This may not get me a best answer, but HONESTLY! We Christians do tend to have a "hateful" and un-Christlike attitude at times tords those who are skeptical. Unfortunately that is the truth, sorry if those who liked my answer before don't like it anymore.

You are just learning that People hate? The Bible has said for thousands of years that people hate wisdom and run from the love of God and the salvation offered by Jesus. People hate the word of God and the freedom from sin it gives I guess. But how people can still spread hate when they are Chrisitians and those that aren't even hate the one that said this I really wonder sometimes though.

John 3:16
or
John 15
9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
...
17This is my command: Love each other.

Your guess is as good as mine. The closest I can come is that some misguided people do not understand either the core of religion or spirituality...which is love, not hate and anger.

But perhaps, just perhaps, their venting is a form of bringing up for healing that anger and confusion within themselves that needs to be healed. Therefore, regardless of what they say, we should hear only their lonely cries for help and love, bless them, and offer them healing and compassion.....easier said than done!

Out side life. Due to anxiety and the on going emotions that they are not capable or are held back from showing and dispensing in the real world, they still have a desire to release the tension. Online they can freely and safely interact as they wish with no consequences. Some people enjoy getting their release from this section of the site.
