Leviticus 20:13

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

I know that being gay is wrong, Lev 18:22 tells us this. Does this verse mean they should actually be killed?

Leviticus 18:22 actually says "V’et zachar lo tishkav mishk’vey eeshah toeyvah hee." - "And with a male thou shalt not lie in the bed of a [married] woman". It doesn't say that homosexuality is wrong, it says that adultery is wrong.

While I see that you know this was the punishment under the Mosaic law, and now you are no longer under that law code, the principle still applies, see (Romans 1:26-32) 26 That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27 and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error. 28 And just as they did not approve of holding God in accurate knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mental state, to do the things not fitting, 29 filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless. 32 Although these know full well the righteous decree of God, that those practicing such things are deserving of death, they not only keep on doing them but also consent with those practicing them.
So when the time comes, Not man but God's Kingdom will put an end to these practices, and the sad thing is that people practicing these things will be cut off, with out everlasting life, because they allowed their desires to over ride there good common sense.

Why not use Romans 1 for evidence that homosexuality is wrong? Why does everybody keep going back to the Jewish Law that was set up for the Jewish people? Maybe - perhaps - when Israel is back in her land as a nation and the temple is built, and the Laws of God are reinstated for Israel, then possibly Jews who are homosexuals might be stoned to death.

But if you think that you can keep PART of the Law, then you are obligated (according to both Moses as well as Paul) to keep the ENTIRE Law; and furthermore, according to Paul, "They that LIVE by the Law shall be JUDGED by the Law"; and just remember that Law does not give room for grace. All the Law can do is point out your crime and declare the penalty. So, if you want to live by the Jewish Law, prepare for judgement, with no grace, since you haven't kept all 613 or so commands!

Yes and those who commit adultry. So everyone who is not married and has had sex should be put to death right now.
Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Basically Jesus did not come to get rid of the law so that we could do whatever we wanted but he came to forgive not judge. So through Jesus we can be forgiven of our sins. Jesus gives us the ultimate pardon so we do not have to recieve the ultimate punishment, seperation from God which is the second death. There are always consequences for our sins in this world. But it does not have to be as harsh as in the Jewish law which required death for almost every infraction.

Have you read the rest of Leviticus? Do you adhere assiduously to all the strictures mentioned?:

If no, why not?

What are the criteria by which you decide which of these "laws of God" are to be ignored and which to be obeyed?

Just curious.

Under the new covenant, no one is doomed like that they are already killing themselves living the lifestyle they chose for its eternal separation from God.

I can't think of any record of 'mos being put to death. I guess people didn't listen to God back then either.

Isn't this being taken out of context? Doesn't it refer specifically to the Sodomites?
