Exodus
21:10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
21:11 And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.

So as long as I feed them both, it looks like I'm in the clear. But try explaining that to her, and she clams up. Any suggestions?

Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

What does it mean?

It is funny, there is no difference between an atheist and a Christian. They both put their faith into something.

If the rapture DOES occur, then how would the world react? At the turn of the century, all of the ministers and evangelistics were preaching all over the place that the Rapture would occur, and the rest of the world would blame the disappearance of many people on UFO's.

But by now, just about every non-Christian knows about the Christian belief of Rapture, and we laugh at those Christians. So you guys strongly believe in the Rapture, correct? Now, wouldn't the world realize you guys were correct if the Rapture DOES occur? I mean they would be like, "OMG THEY WERE RIGHT! THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID WOULD HAPPEN."

I have seen Catholics claim we should thank them for the Bible. That they compiled it and even sometimes they claim to have written it. They say if it were not for the Catholic church we would not even have the Bible. Is this true? The Bible makes it clear that it is God who preserves His Word. Not man. Without the Catholic church the Bible still would be preserved. God promised it and He cannot lie.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

1Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

How does this belief do this, Christians? It is a bit of a non-sequiter, kind of like me claiming to teach my dog to read by ramming a newspaper up its ***.

It seems that a more straight forward approach to becoming a "moral" person would include good deeds, helping others, and other good works.

Children need to be in good health, families depriving them of that is pure selfish without any consciences and super ego's.

why are they trying to take out constitutional rights out of our public school systems. For instance, a child can no longer pray in school in the state of MD because they might "offend" someone. I think this is crap. I think that if a child wants to pray they should have every right to. And if they dont want to, then they have every right not to. What happened to freedom of religion? Right now in Maryland we have a law suit goin on, a child brought his holy bible to school and was reading it, he was suspended from school. So his family is now sueing the public school system. I think this is discriminaiton. No one says that everyone has to believe the same thing, but everyone should have the right to practice their religion freely.
I also disagree with trying to remove the word God out of the pledge of allegance. The constitution of the United States was written based on the Holy Bible (FACT) and that is why we say "one nation under God". Opinions???

i would like to thank all you christians out there who are constantly warning me that i will go to hell because i dont agree with the teachings of your sect (which is what you are, just one sect in the one god religion along with jews and moslems) since they believe in the same god as you will jews and moslims also go to hell just because they worship differently to you. i dont object to anyone having their own beliefs but i do object when a group of people who have no logical argument to promote their religion resort to scare and intimidation tactics... sorry guys you dont scare us you make us laugh

Ask a question like this and your bound to get 10,000 different answers.

So i've heard from both the religious and non-religious a variety different answers about religion and its continuation. I've heard its on a Rise, on a Decline. I've heard that this is Cyclical, pointing to expectations in the last 70-100 years that Religion (of any sort) would be wiped out. Or expectations that a "Great Awakening" (Just what is that exactly?) is right around the corner.

So i'm asking, does anyone have any HARD evidence (not anecdotal, perhaps something statistical) to support one of the three suppositions above?

The Catholic Church that it is the "Only Way" to salvation.

I am sorry to disagree, the bible in John 14:6 says he is the only way.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope in rome is the head of the "True Church".

However, the Bible says that "Jesus" is the head of the True Church.

Do you trust a Chruch full of corruption, lies and coverups?

Or do you trust Jesus, the only perfect and Sinless one who ever lived?

When somebody asked a question recently about a hypothetical $500million for which the only requirement was that you stopped praying to God and going to church.

My understanding of Christian thought is that:-
a) You are supposed to love your neighbour and that is not just restrained to those next door, or even just in your city
b) You are supposed to do good works, ie things that would meet with God's approval. In this case the amount of good work could be very large.

The sacrifice asked was only a personal one and did not include going to Hell. The bottom line seemed to be "are you prepared to make sacrifices for the well being of others"? I thought this was a fundamental attitude expected of Christians, the example being set by Christ Himself. Judging by the large proportion of "No"(ie people saying they would not accept the money) answers, then my understanding must be wrong on these points. Please tell me why it is wrong? Funners kindly abstain.

I see this charge laid against us all the time. We are told that man founded the protestant religion why Jesus founded Catholicism. Is this true? The foundation of protestant religions is the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. Who is the Word? John 1:1 makes it clear Jesus is the Word. So if Protestants build upon the Word and the Word is Jesus doesn't that make Jesus our founder as well?

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Matthew 24:21-22 (King James Version)

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

For all who believe in the rapture please explain these two scriptures. I don't understand how the days are shortened for the elect if the elect are to been raptured before the great tribulation.

I am a Christian as most people who have seen my answers know,
but I can take God out of the argument and STILL have a solid argument AGAINST this one.

Ok, so for one and this is VERY important,
it is ILLEGAL that means AGAINST THE LAW for kids this age to be having sex, the age of consent differs in different states but in most it is either 16 or 18 and I think in Kentucky it MIGHT be 14, but I'm not sure.
IN MAIN THE LEGAL AGE OF CONSENT IS 16 NO MIDDLE SCHOOL PERSON IS 16 (unless they were held back an awful lot , but the majority)
THIS IS AN ILLEGAL ACT
http://www.coolnurse.com/consent.htm

So if it is ILLEGAL(AGAINST THE LAW) for people of this age to consent to having sex then it should be (and I'm sure it is) ILLEGAL (AGAINST THE LAW) to give them birth control to keep them from having babies (a natural thing caused ONLY by having sex- and once in the bible by God himself)
