Because the laws in the OT still held - though many Christians will tell you they do not. But if the laws became null and void with the coming of Jesus then that means many things are just fine to do/think/etc that weren't before. Thus, your question is a logical one. In my view, homosexuality isn't the way God wants us to live. I know people who are gay and they are my friends, but I don't condone what they do. I also keep my nose out of their personal issues. Your life is not my life. Every person is free to live their life as they choose and believe. That's what free will is.

Homosexuality was a sin, and always will be a sin- that did not change when Jesus came- however forgiveness was and is available to anyone who accepts Christ - the new law as you call it is "love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself." this does not make sin ok- where does it say that?
EDIT- and for those who say that homosexuality and other sins was not an issue to Jesus- is wrong- how can I say this? Yes, He is love, however if He did not judge sin, Jesus would just have said, "I love you, you are saved" without paying the price for our sins on the cross.

It would appear you do not comprehend what the new covenant truly is and how it works. And if you don't understand this, then there is no point trying to explain to you how gays relate to the new covenant.

Theres alot of old laws that are still laws. He didn't have to say every single law that was law cause it was already established. If he all of sudden said gays were good, that would make him not God because it was already stated that being gay was against God. So, with that, why would have to restate it was bad when its a given?

Jesus didn't come to "lay down the new law"; he came to manifest "right relationship" within the new Kingdom of heaven and to our heavenly Father. The kingdom of God is the new government we are under when we call upon the Lord. He taught us to "obey" our earthly govt rules as long as they don't violate God's "way" and commandments. For instance, after Jesus' death, He had left a mandate for His followers to "go into the world and preach the gospel; baptizing them, etc.." and the Roman govt said "do not speak in that name"..., so they did it anyway, because the kingdom of God takes precedence over human law.
John the Baptist preached before Jesus that the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus preached the kingdom of heaven is now! It is exactly that people who accept Jesus, confess Him as the Son of God, confess He died and arose from the dead; become "born again" and are then heirs WITH Jesus in all His spiritual power and blessings. We have been renewed and restored to the original plan God had for mankind in the beginning... restored dominion and authority and divine relationship with our heavenly Father.., and now we have to learn to live in this heavenly kingdom, walking and talking with God as His beloved children. Our King is in the invisible realm (to our earthly eyes) in heaven and the Holy Spirit is left here with us as the govenor over this kingdom system of living, but earth now is only a colony of heaven and we are to "act like" those who are there...being ambassadors/ representatives of heaven, free from sin, bondages, failure, diseases, insufficiency in every area, loneliness, & spiritual death.
"Right relationship" was addressed under the "law" phase of mankind's development and this was addressed very succinctly under "law", as recorded in the Old Testament, and again addressed in the 1st chapter of Romans in the New Testament. At any time we are not moving under Jesus' law of "love, grace, and godliness with right kingdom relationship to our heavenly Father and our fellowman", we go back under "law", with the corresponding consequences to 'breaking the law'. The name for breaking God's laws for right living is called "sin" and "the wages (the price paid, the cost) of sin is death". Only Jesus can remove this cost through His shed blood and that is applied to every life that asks Him into their life to BE their Lord and Savior. The consequences are built into our universal law of living on planet Earth.., and we are told, "be sure your sins will find you out". NO ONE gets past the violation of law even if our "system's legal requirements" never catch up with you..., the consequences overtake us anyway on every level.
It is written: "God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows, THAT he will also reap". We know that is factual or else we would never plant a seed and expect a harvest from that seed. It is foolproof and an eternal law of heaven and earth..., so, what's more to say?

Because Jesus judged no one, his laws were above all others, "Love one another", and "Love his Father."
John 8:15 [Jesus speaking]: "You [Jews/Pharisees] judge by human standards; I pass judgement on no one."
John 12:47 [Jesus speaking]: "As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it."
And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt LOVE THE LORD THY GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And THE SECOND is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29- 31
