I am a Christian as most people who have seen my answers know,
but I can take God out of the argument and STILL have a solid argument AGAINST this one.
Ok, so for one and this is VERY important,
it is ILLEGAL that means AGAINST THE LAW for kids this age to be having sex, the age of consent differs in different states but in most it is either 16 or 18 and I think in Kentucky it MIGHT be 14, but I'm not sure.
IN MAIN THE LEGAL AGE OF CONSENT IS 16 NO MIDDLE SCHOOL PERSON IS 16 (unless they were held back an awful lot , but the majority)
THIS IS AN ILLEGAL ACT
http://www.coolnurse.com/consent.htm
So if it is ILLEGAL(AGAINST THE LAW) for people of this age to consent to having sex then it should be (and I'm sure it is) ILLEGAL (AGAINST THE LAW) to give them birth control to keep them from having babies (a natural thing caused ONLY by having sex- and once in the bible by God himself)

There is the LEGAL point, now on for the MEDICAL one
IT IS PHYSICALLY DANGEROUS FOR AN 11 YEAR OLD TO BE PREGNANT
(again pregnancy is a natural thing cause only by HAVING SEX-which is illegal at that age, I wonder why!!!)
It is also emotionally and psychologically damaging to the CHILD not only to be pregnant but to have sex.
Everyone who has HAD SEX or talked to someone who has (I mean outside of marriage)
will know that it is damaging, you get attached to the person they don't care for you it just gets messy, so it's bad enough to be having sex with different people in uncommited relationships when your 20 let alone 12.

These girls will have sex because they have psychological issues, an absent father, a careless mother, whatever the issue be, they will want men or boys at that age, to like them and to care about them and to give them attention and SEEM like they love them.
So the boy will say they want sex or else the girl is not really in love with them or they want sex and (they don't say this but it shows) will give attention if they can get sex.
So the girl has sex.
Then the boy moves on to the next girl and the girl has even more emotional damage then before and moves on to the next guy even MORE VULNERABLE.
HOW CAN WE CONDONE by the giving of birth control AN ILLEGAL ACT AND A MEDICALLY DANGEROUS ACT????????

INFO FROM
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/02/19/world/main541267.shtml - I like their stand on abortion, only for rape victims and severe danger to the mother and severe deformalities - very smart

as i stated I am NOT for abortion
I am not for 11 year olds having sex
also it IS illegal for two 11 year olds to have sex, because NEITHER of them is legally allowed to consent to having sex, therefor neither can chose to have sex, get it?
Talk to a lawyer before you let YOUR 11 year old have sex, if you have an 11 year old.
Also, at this age they don't know much and are not physicaly or mentaly mature enough to be able to take care of having sex and therefor they get alot more STD's than you would if you were mature enough to have sex (and run the risk of getting pregnant)

This just shows how far down we as a people (regarless of religion) have gone, we are now saying it's ok for our 11 year olds to have sex as long as they are safe.
No one wants to push for abstinence, I would prefer they AT LEAST wait untill they are 16, my God even 15!
The caps loc is because I don't think I can use italics here, which I like to use.
I know you would rather non pregnant 11 year olds, but I babysitt two 11 year olds and I know, if they stated having sex their lives would go downhill.
This is probably the cause of most of the youth of this country going downhill, and by THIS i mean the adults condoning STUPID actions.

Wow what a rant. What are you going to do, put the 13yr old in jail? If they are having sex, which apparently they are, they NEED to be PROTECTED from pregnancy and STD's.
Since I am in the medical profession, it would be highly UNETHICAL not to do everything in my power to protect my patients regardless of their age. That would include prescribing birth control if they were sexually active.

It's against the law to drive over the speed limit, but that doesn't stop people from speeding. It's against the law to steal, but that doesn't stop people. Just because there is a law for it, doesn't mean people will always abide by that law. I agree that an 11 year old is way too young to be having sex, but does that mean there aren't cases where 11 year-olds are having sex? Of course not. However, just handing out some free packs of birth control isn't going to solve any problems either. There needs to be comprehensive and accurate education programs- not scare tactics, not lies, not religiously slanted pamphlets.

Oh, wow. Since it is illegal then I guess all those teenage and pre-teen pregnancies never actually happened.
I would much prefer these kids not to have sex. As you say, they are not emotionally ready for this. However, some do, and will whatever you tell them. I would much rather that they use contraception and only have to deal with the issues of under-age sex, compared to having to deal with that AND under-age pregnancy.
Face it, all the studies of abstinence only programs shows that they fail miserably. We have to deal with that reality, not with how you would like the world to be.

"start administration" pills at the instant are not unavoidably purely used for start administration. Estrogen/Progesterone pills can alter the hormones (that's between the justifications i'm on them) and hence decrease cramping and make classes shorter and greater predictable. this might additionally safeguard the uterus from endometriosis. quite a lot all drugs have side outcomes, and with a bit of luck your well being practitioner has considered your sister's man or woman circumstances earlier than prescribing this therapy, and that your sister's high quality of existence will some distance outweigh any side outcomes she might journey.

Decide what you want: Sexually active 11 yr olds having babies or sexually active 11 yr olds on birth control. Either way, society has to deal with the consequences and fallout until it can change society and families where 11 yr old children are no longer birthing more children. Until then ... shouting and ranting that 11 yr old sex is illegal is a ridiculous denial of reality. Do you really think an 11 yr old is capable of much less willing to take the initiative to analyze laws regarding sexual activity? I think 11 yr olds having sex is as ridiculous as you, but they are. The children are out of control and their irresponsible parents are out of control. How about offering a VIABLE alternative that accounts for reality. Is abstinence in a sick, values-warped, hedonistic society that promotes instant gratification, makes gods and icons of ridiculous people, and makes standards for commercial success unrestrained sex, violence, and filthy language a remote possibility?

Its not illegal for two eleven year olds to have sex together. I mean really ... what would they do? Lock them both up in juvy?
Although I whole-heartedly agree that its too young of an age to be having sex, I think that birth control should be available to teenagers at any age that they feel they could begin having sex. Like you stated yourself, its dangerous for an 11 year old to be pregnant.
So tell me then, what is the legal punishment for an 11 year old who has sex with another 11 year old? Who is prosecuted for rape, or taking indecent liberties? And by the way, I don't have kids and I certainly wouldn't "let" my 11 year old have sex ... but we all know that teenagers do plenty of things their parents wouldn't "let" them do.

It is illegal to have sex unless a person is XYZ years old. But is it feasible to stop them from having sex if they are less than XYZ years old?
What you are suggesting is that, since it is illegal to shoot someone, it should also be illegal to manufacture and sell/buy bullet proof vests.
There is nothing illegal in distributing birth control medicament. It does not encourage something that is illegal, it only tries to prevent further suffering to a young mother and her child in case she commits this illegal act.

People have sex at these ages, whether it's illegal or not, and whether you like it or not.
All of your shouty ranting ignores the two real choices here: unwanted pregnancies, or not.
Do you imagine that the vaccination you received as an infant somehow influenced the chances of your being exposed to smallpox?

I agree with you 110%
and a side issue that seems to contribute to this...dressing little girls like baby hookers!! WHY??
school uniforms!!!even the poorest kid can come up with a white shirt and black pants...black knee length skirt....
sexually explite children and teen TV shows??WHY??
Brat dolls and others that look like barbie on steroids?? dressed like hookers??WHY??
the amount of hormones and steroids contained in dairy products and other food products are forcing an unnatural early puberty on today's children....WHY??
a redneck analogy...if you aren't old enough to be fishing then don't lay out the bait.....
these children are not old enough to be fishing!!! their bodies are still mostly child...adding another chemical to the mix is not going to be a good idea.....

I think the misguided point is why spend all the money on birth control for Tweens when we could be spending it on abstinence education? Kids are a product of their home-life and when an 11-year-old has a 45 year old grandmother, chances are that the kid doesn't see their body as something precious and worthy of being saved. By educating those kids (rather than handing them pills and rubbers) we not only save money but lives. The kid who doesn't get pregnant at 14 may have a 4.0 gpa after high school and get a full scholarship to Yale or whatever, becoming a valued member of our society instead of another unwed teen mother.
