I understand your point Riegan.........
As a Christian, of course I would want to see prayer in schools. But at the same time, I wouldn't want it to be forced on anyone.
Christians do have the right to pray in school today.....it just can't be initiated by the teacher.
And if one of your children were to do a spell while sitting next to one of my children.......I think that would be fine. From what I understand, spells aren't intended to bring harm.

As a Christian, I believe that you are allowed to have whatever beliefs you want, that you can share them with me, and that I am not offended by someone that has a different faith. As they say, You have every right to be wrong :-) and I am certainly not offended at you being wrong. We start drawing the lines at animal sacrifices and chicken livers and such:-)
But, that said, I want my kids to be able to share their experience with Jesus, to be able to mention the name Jesus without having to be sent to the office for "disrupting the class" and to pray, even publicly, if they so choose, as long as the activity is not disruptive.
But I can see it now, "Prayer time in the cafeteria 10 minutes before the algebra exam! Be there!"
There should be few limits to anyone's expression of religion, even if you are a witch. That is what is in the constitution, not the garbage that it has turned into, where no religion can be practiced anywhere public.

That is why we have private schools, I am religious but I think that what is above the issue of freedom of religion is the fact that public money pays for public schools. It should be a completely neutral environment from outside prejudice. Topics like racism, religion/evolution/mythology, and politics should be taught with a factual and non emotional bias only. What people do in their homes and what gods they worship is their own business.

First, My apologize for posting so much. You asked a very good question. Few words will not do it jusitice.
There are several schools giving the Muslims the time and place to pray in Schools! do you object for them, or just one religion.
In CA they are teaching about Islam, but it is forbidden to have a Bible in the library or mention God. Do you ever wonder why!
Freedom of religion one and all. Not just some.
By the way, if you didn't notice. I am making a point at our government not the Muslim.
Edit:
You have your right to believe as you wish. I attended a private christian School in the Middle East. We had religion classes for Christians, and for Muslims. It was to learn. Not a big deal. Each student was able to learn their religion by their own respectable teacher of their own religion.
Religion is a major part of all of us. Not just Christians, but all. Muslims would tell you that Islam is the way of life. You can't separate them. Christians don't say that.
So far two thumbs down just for saying everyone should have the freedom. We are becoming to PC society, that some of us are losing our so called freedom. Is it to appear to others as liberal or just fear in disguise!
If you think this is a problem. Visit the Middle East during Ramadan. Everything will shut down. Everything. You can buy a piece of gum during the day time, that is the fasting time. When a President pass away, every single chanelle TV or radio, is only prayers, for three days. The higher they are up, the more days eveything is only prayer.
I tell you about the Middle East just to show you the difference between us an them.
I agree with you. If one is permitted, then all should. But, in reality it is not. In one word, our government are wimps. pardon my french.
No one should be forced to pray, and no one should be forced Not to pray. If you look at it. For those who want to learn religion, and can't, are forced Not to learn it.
I believe people should have the option to take it or not. Not providing it at all is another way of restricting people's ability to decided.

I agree with you, if Mormons are allowed to have a whole class in school, why can't Christians even have an after school club, and ever other religion. it's so stupid. I have nothing against Mormons as a Christian but its not fair for the rest of the religions.

Want to know how to get your ex back? Change yourself. Don't worry about changing other people, worry about changing yourself. Go to https://tr.im/q3oea
Once you do that then you can start to worry about getting back together with your ex, other wise you will find that you are fighting about all the same things and getting no where. Do what it takes and I promise things will work out in your favor.
The funny thing is I came to the realization that I had to change a little too late. After I was kicked out and after I was about to lose the only things that truly mattered to me - her love. A funny thing happens when we truly love someone and lose them. We do what ever it takes to get them back. For me I had to drop bad habits that had caused not only our relationship to sour but practically every other relationship I had had in the past. Not only with women, but with friends, co-workers, family, you name it.
Which is why I say to you as my ex at the time said to me, the only thing you can do is change yourself. Work on yourself and improve on the person that you already are. Drop the negative things in your life that don't belong there and you will see all of your relationships start to take off to new heights.

No spells with my kids in the room.
If I go to Israel I do not expect them to change their religious practices because it is not how I believe. If I go to the Arab countries and they insist I cover my head, I will.
80 percent of America is Christian and yet we allow the 20 percent to tell us how to run our school system. We cower before the vocal 20 percent. I would like to see Christians stand up and take back our country.

Let's not call it prayer... Let's call it "Independant Reflection and Quiet Time" Or IRQT (pronounced "irked" in my mind)
a time for quiet reflection and respect. That way, kids can do their spells, or prayers, or meditations, or whatever they feel necessary... or they can just quietly contemplate their navels for all I care...as long as those who wish to pray have an opportunity...

Yep... no problem at all.
You have hit the crux of the problem. When folks want "prayer" in school, they mean Christian recitation. A bad idea.
There is no such thing as a christian (or muslim, or jewish, or... ) country. Countries do not exhibit spiritual stances. The people in them are the spiritual creatures - and those who would pronounce their nation as being a particular way have not paid attention to the other people around them.

I bet you were sympathising with that guy until he started talking nonsense. I think this question is a response to this earlier question:

Why can't people understand the idea of individual freedoms - free to believe what you want while other people are free not to have it shoved down their throats? Its really not that advanced a concept!
I would say the only school where open witchery is ok would be Hogwarts.
