I've heard that the thief on the cross may have been under the Mosaic law when Christ bypassed the rite of baptism and told him that "this day you will be with me in paradise."

This would make John's baptism ineffective; Jesus' own baptism ineffective; his death, and possibly even his resurrection ineffective, right up until the great commission. That's five events in order to fully institute baptism. Your count?

Then why should it matter if we are Atheist to him as he loves all that he has created.
And I was always taught that God forgives no matter what so why would he send us Atheists to hell in a handabasket?

This sounds like hypocritical nonsense to me.I honestly cant work out how this can be so please enlighten me with your thoughts.

i seriously thought it was supposed to be a joke when i first saw it. there was that comic about the dinosaurs and modern man together and the other ones i saw were equally inaccurate.

i've seen more and more people using this site as reference. is it really meant to be serious?

even if you have fundamental beliefs in christianity, you have to admit that this site is pretty wacky and out there, don't you?

i'm not trying to be mean with this question, it's sincere. may i suggest that if you do take this site seriously, that you may want to keep that to yourself when debating your faith with non believers, because it will be detrimental to your arguement.

As an effort to get Republicans on board to support the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), the House has offered to increase funding for abstinence-only sex ed, an approach shown to be ineffective, by $28m. That amount would provide health care for 150,000 more children. Does this sound like a good idea? How can anyone justify this? When that money could go to so many better uses, how can our nation's leaders make such a proposal? I can almost accept that as the only way to get this bill to pass and get ANY more children into health care programs, but it seems so irresponsible to do it just to play politics.

Given that abstinence-only sex ed is a largely religious idea, what do you think about this trade off? Can it possibly be worth it? Would you support it?

Somebody asked for people's views on abortion and I said I thought everyone should have them and I got a violation.

Why is banning everyone from having them OK but requiring that everyone have them wrong?

Hi, I am 17 years old. Here are the facts, I belive that someone created this earth but do not have enough proof to just say, "OH, GOD DID!" I don't get how most people can just belive something they are told, that they or anyone else wasn't even around to witness? Now, most people are thinking "That is what faith is!" But I am more of a "Believe it when I see it person". My question to all of you guys, is What relgion is aimed toward what I am thinking. I was Cathloic and I want to be a different relgion because I don't belive all of this bull**** coming from everyones mouth. I want to either hear it from God himself or belive in a religion based on fact. Please help, thanks!

I am speaking of R/S participant "Former atheist who loves Jesus", although I see he has changed his name to "Atheists need salvation too".

We exchanged several e-mails yesterday and I found him/her (not sure) to be intelligent and personable.

We agreed to disagree on the brainwashing I think influenced him/her. I get the feeling he is a he.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this, take it as you wish.

Can a believer please tell me if God speaks to us through our dreams? And if so, how do we know it's God and not our imaginations? And, why would God chose this particular time to communicate this particular topic with me? (Please do not answer this question if you're an atheist.)

Here is one part, taken from the state website:

66260.7. "Gender" means sex, and includes a person's gender
identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not
stereotypically associated with the person's assigned sex at birth.

If I read that right, a 15 year old boy could decide he is a 15 year old girl and not be discriminated against just because of his plumbing. So what's to stop him from demanding to go to girl's gym, shower with the girls, hang out in the stalls of the girls' bathroom?

Wake up America, what happens in California soon spreads East! I'm asking this in a few different areas just to get a balanced response. Thank you.

" when walking on the road you meet a man who says I am searching for the truth, walk with him, but if you meet a man who says , i have found the truth follow me,, you must run away from this man" .( Maybe not a perfect quote the the lesson is the same.) What does this mean to those Religions who claim to be "Christian" yet say "We are the one TRUE religion we have the TRUTH join us" Are we not instructed to RUN AWAY from them?

He's a Truck Driver and calls into where I work about twice a week.
He's got Liver Cancer and its spread right through his body so they have stopped the treatment.

He is a strong vibrant Man with a Ribald and wicked sense of humour abd though I've watched him looking greyer and sicker over the course of his illness he is still quite a man and if anything his wit has become sharper.

There is no darkness or depression about him.
I asked him why he was still worked and he said "Well what the fu@k else am I gonna do?"
I must admit I am impressed with the way he's going about things!
He is completely without faith, a total Atheist. He expects to die and is doing so without fear or expectations.

I guess my question is to both Atheists and People of Faith. Do you think you would face your Mortality with good humour and without fear?

But I really don't understand, in all the dictionaries, I have looked up the word "Christian" and the main explanation of the word is:
A person who follows Christ, a person who believes that Christ is the son of God, that he died on the cross for our sins, and that he is the Saviour.
If this is true, why do a lot of Christians, say that Catholics are not Christians, don't Catholics believe in the 3 main points , mentioned above? And if they do, and I'm sure they do, then why do some say they aren't Christians, It doesn't seem to make sense to me.
The explanation of the word is simple and if Catholics fit the explanation then they must be Christians, right?
I have heard the argument that it's because Catholics pray to saints, but they STILL believe in the main points that classes one as a Christian. I would really appreciate if anyone could explain this to me, thanks.

Obviously it's a "learning" game of Hide and Seek.
Seek and ye shall find. No seek would be no find.

Obviously what to "find" is grace, as told in Heb 4:16.
Futhermore "find grace" is "in time", and to "help".
So then find grace to help you solve the "mystery",
which is "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4.

See-King clues?
Ye must be born again to even SEE the KofG.
So if getting high on law, and looking down on others,
then you won't see the KofG is above such law vs law.
Heaven: higher than the heavens, is above the heavens.

Lukewarm isn't allowed on the seventh day.
If lukewarm, spewed out, like warm coffee is spit out.
Only hot or cold is allowed at Sabbath shewdown time:
Sabbath? "the day of the LORD" -vs- "the day of God".
Hint: the day(light) of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
Allegory: the grace of the LORD is law, and not grace.
God said: let there be light, not lights, nor light + darkness.

What does Albert Einstein say of hot or cold?

Being with God or Being with Satan. I want to know reasons why some of you think or dont think this. Bible quotes are not allowed because if you dont believe the Bible, then they are irrelevant
I am an Agnostic. I believe in God, just not in Religion. I feel that all religions should be treated as equals
