No, it is the nature of religion.
Religion is based on emotion. It uses emotional hooks that take advantage of human insecurity to promote and sustain itself. It really has little evidence or reason to back up its claims.
Because religion fosters emotional attachment to the group, it also encourages extreme emotional attachment to the group. That's why all religions have their fanatics. And because of the emotional attachment and binding with the group, they tend to be antagonistic towards those in other such groups with different beliefs.
If you look back into history, you can pick nearly any two religions or even sects of religions and find where they have oppressed, tortured, and killed each other. This is not unique to Islam. It is just that at different times, this becomes more extreme with one group or another. Islam is just one of the current hotspots.

The so called extremists :
Its based on the understanding of a person. they try to understand, what they want it to be.
If I tell you statement, " You can/should fight back if someone is trying to kill/hurt you". This is to defend ourselves.
Now if I split it "You can/should fight " it gives an alltogether another meaning, doesnt it? This is how people use it.
Moreover these days, people are using it for personal gains.
The rest of theory that you have mentioned is absolutely wrong. There's no different books or anything like that. There's only one book, The Holy Quran.
btw extremists is completely a wrong term to define any religion. Fundamentalists, should be a better term - how strongly i follow my religion, how fundamenatally strong am I?

In a manner of speaking this is what Muslim extremists have done. They have interpreted the Quran without the proper methodology. They have mixed their interpretations of the Quran with all sorts of concepts that are not found in Islam. Now you have generations of Muslims, that from a very young age, are inundated with these misguided, dangerous interpretations. This site illustrates who these people are and even details how they went astray interpreting the Quran.

No.. Any Holy book can be misinterpreted by people with an agenda. That's never been disputed.
The problem with Islam is not just the book, but the prophet. Muslims are suppose to listen to Muhammad, as much as Allah, and follow his example. His example is not nice most of the time. He had slaves. He allowed theft and lies. He ordered people to be murdered, not just killed in wars, but cold blooded murder.
People can pick apart the Bible and say there's violence in there, but if they looked at the example of Jesus, whom Christians are suppose to follow, they will not find examples of violence and sins by Him.

Is not the nature of religion. In any religion there are those that for whatever reason--terrible childhood--doesn't matter--channel their hatred and anger through their religion--choose to interpret their holy book to justify an extreme position--radicals seek other radicals and a splinter sect is born. Has happened time and time and time again. Islam,Christianity, Judism--all of these are religions of peace--yet within each are whose warped invidiuals--who seek to control the actions and behaviors of everyone on the planet. It is not the nature of the religion but of men.

Good Question!!!
Firstly its the UNBIASED MEDIA that has always shown Islam in the FALSE way.
The root meaning of Islam is 'PEACE'. And this is the very religion that is held accountable for any damn violence in the world.
Due to the action of some, we never blame the whole LOT...
But Islam is UNJUSTLY dealt the other way and always it is GENERALIZED. There are so called 'Experts' who have nothing to do about Islam and these 'Experts' take Quranic verses out of context and then say " Hey Islam promotes Terorism "
There is ERROR in the Word 'Terror'... And this ERROR is to hold Islam - 'which means PEACE' be responsible for it.
Those who falsely accuse our prophet read false, unauthentic information about him which is written by enemies of Islam.
Anyone who tries to understand Islam from unbiased, authentic source will definitely find the real TRUTH which is NEVER shown by the UNJUST MEDIA.

My faith is run by the Lord Jesus Christ.........Scripture does NOT tell us to decapitate people for their non-belief
Like the other book does......
So for the muslim extremists.......I would say their book influences their decisions big-time.
