Has anyone else noticed this about them

Contradicting versions of Jesus Christ's Life (hanged by neck, Crucified)
Inaccurate Future Predictions
Varying Accounts of God (We become one, We don't become One, etc.)
Seeing people that are still alive
Completely different versions (Tunnel, No Tunnel, Hell, No Hell, Reincarnation, No Reincanation, etc.)

Is anyone else bothered by these things or am I just not seeing the whole picture?

I am totally dumbfounded and stupified that protestants can't hear the words coming out of their own mouths. They say "God gave us the Bible, not men".

God works THROUGH MEN. It was MEN that wrote the Bible, under the inspiration of GOD.
So, it was also MEN who canonized the Bible (decided which books went into it) under the inspiriation of GOD.

You're only other option is that the Bible fell from the sky, or grew on a tree.

When Catholics say that the Catholic Church gave you the Bible, we ARE saying the GOD GAVE IT TO YOU, because GOD WORKS THROUGH MEN.

Moses, Noah, the prophets, GOD WORKED THROUGH THEM ALL.
Holy Moley !! What part of this don't you guys get?

The Church's decisions are binding: "..whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matt 16:19, 18:18) is what Jesus told the 12 apostles.

"Boy, aren't we lucky that the story of the one true god just happened to originate on our little, insignificant speck in the universe?"?

You gotta admit that that's just a dandy situation, that is. To say nothing of the convenience of the whole thing.

I think we can collectively give the rest of the universe a huge "BOOYAH!!!" on that one.

Matthew 24
1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25Behold, I have told you before.

26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Prominent creation scientist Em Adjineri has proposed an alternative to atomic theory called "Intelligent Subatomism" or IS. IS is a better theory and should be taught in schools.

IS says that atoms are made of three types of particles: positively charged Godons, negatively charged Satons, and neutral humons. Godons collect in the nucleus of the atom and are joined by humons, who wish to become divine like the Godons.

Satons used to be allowed in the nucleus but were banished because the Electron of Light (Luciton) tried to take over the nucleus. The Godons banded together and created the Strong (Divine) Nuclear force which keeps all the Godons and Humons together in the nucleus.

IS is better than Atomic Theory because atomic theory doesn't explain why particles have charge. According to IS, particles have charges because they use free will to accept or reject the positive charge that God offers.

Does anybody else think IS should be taught as an alternative to Atomic Theory?

I noticed when I asked a question a while back. Catholic Crusader called me a curse word.

You claim to be a Christian, from the "true Church".

Is cursing part of your wonderful doctine?

Or, did that just prove you are only "Pretending" to be a Christian. Perhaps offline you curse like a sailer, and this is all jjust a front for you?

True Church huh?

A university student while visiting Gasan asked him: "Have you ever read the Christian Bible?"
"No, read it to me," said Gasan.
The student opened the Bible and read from St. Matthew: "And why take ye thought for rainment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these... Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself."
Gasan said: "Whoever uttered those words I consider an enlightened man."
The student continued reading: "Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened."
Gasan remarked: "That is excellent. Whoever said that is not far from Buddhahood."

i dont find Christ's teachings and Buddhas teachings to be incompatable, but do you?

That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. - John 17:21

For example I will explain the point and direction of the question.
The greatest power God's children have over darkness is unity. Jesus talked a great deal about His oneness with the Father and the importance of unity in the Body of Christ. It is the most difficult command Jesus gave to the Church, because it wars against the most evil aspect of our sin nature--independence.

In the last days we are seeing God's Spirit convict His children of the lack of unity among His Church. We are seeing God move between blacks and whites, ethnic groups, denominations, and parachurch groups. There is much work to be done. The walls of division and competition among His Body are a stench in God's nostrils.

For my design project, I've decided to deviate from what the sponsor is paying for and come up with something for R&S users. It is a device that slaps the user every time they click the report button. I will work with yahoo in implementing code that requires the user to have this device hooked up to their computer in order to use the R&S section.

This is a hypothetical question (so I don't want to hear "It would NEVER say that!") designed to test how strong your faith is vs. your common sense.

If you would do something your common sense tells you not to do, such as eating dog poo, on faith, why?

If not, then why do other things that are obviously wrong, such as killing people or being a total jerk, on faith?

2007-10-18 05:29:01 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous

I think I would have much more respect for an atheist that says that science can not explain everything and that even what science claims to be truth, relies on the belief of unkowns...so it may not be true.

Is Physics an absolute truth? What about the constant Alpha? It may not be an actual constant and may differ in space or time, that kind of puts a big hole in Physics does it not? You must put faith in the constant Alpha for you to claim Physics is a truth.

What about the law of gravity? It doesn't fit for the way galaxies spin, so science makes up the idea of "dark matter". There is no proof of it, they can't even start to describe what it may be. But they have to believe in it, or our understanding of gravity is completly false.

If you can put your faith in science and all the unknowns and "beliefs" that science must follow, then why is there a problem with others doing the same with God?
