I know we don't always agree but please know I enjoy the spirtual conversions we always have. Jesus said at Mat 5:3 “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need.

I just wanted to compliment you on that.
Do you feel the same?

It seems that many theists equate atheism with secularism when discussing topics such as prayer in schools for example. I see that many Christians believe that taking prayer out of schools is like 'forcing atheism' on their children however, it is not. There is a distinct difference between atheism and secularism (which is what our nation was founded on) and the distinction seems to be lost on many theists, namely the ones who answered this question:

Fanatics and Yahoo! find the best answers and questions to be violations for the mere act of disagreeing with them?
I've seen this happen two times today. Neither was offensive.
The first was in P&S, someone asked if she should shave the yamster and tattoo him, and what the tattoo should be. I responded she should tattoo the words "Report This," and her question was subsequently deleted. The other was an answer to a question I posted. The answer was that the chicken crossed the road to get away from the fundies. I was going to give her best answer for humor.
I put this in R&S because it happens here A LOT.
If someone is offended by either of those, they have deeper issues than they realize. Who thinks Yahoo! and fanatics need to get over themselves?

undeniably, it is the goal of many, not all or most, but many atheists to convince believers of any faith that what they believe are nothing more than silly superstitions. consider religion just another topic on which to debate. and isn't it the goal in any form of debate to make the opponent seem unreliable, and in many cases ridiculous, while at the same time making yourself more credible, i.e. political debates? why should religion get a free pass? if anything, those who defend religion are getting off relitively light to only have to take a few insulting words. consider, all the religions that have fallen throughout history, not because of civil, or even hostile discussions but because of bloody wars. aren't people being just a little too sensitive when they complain about others making fun of their religion?

Let's not misinterpret the scriptures to prop up a misguided religion.

What does manifest mean?

John 14:21 says He who has My commandments and keep them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

Will Jesus reveal Himsef as the Father to us? He has to me!

Do you not think that is a bit simple? After all, man invented a car but you're probably turn around and say god gave us the knowledge.

My question is, if God does everything then isn't our existence just simply his? If he provides everything, including things we make (since he gave us knowledge, thoughts, everything), then isn't it just him doing it? Wouldn't your line of logic state we don't actually exist.

It's like saying someone's arm built it even though the mind commanded it to. In my example, the "arm" is "man" and the "mind" is God. In other words, they are all one.

A little help because I find Christians, especially stating that we don't understand Gods logic (which is a failure to understand logic, itself), are confusing as hell and everything seems made up on the spot

Being ever-cynical, bitter?
Is that how our early "ape" ancestors were? Angry and bitter? Is that what atheists aspire to be?

I saw a fundamentalist post today that Constantine started the Catholic Church. This actually wasn't the first time I've seen someone say it. However, we know historically that the first mention of the Catholic Church was in approximately 107 A.D. and Constantine was born in approximately 280 A.D. How could he have started a Church that existed over 100 years before he was born? I must say I found it rather humorous.

So... are people just too lazy to research or are they purposely trying to pass off lifes as the truth?

does this mean they are insecure about their beliefs?

One day the Great Spirit collected swirls of dust from the four directions in order to create the Comanche people. These people formed from the earth had the strength of mighty storms. Unfortunately, a shape-shifting demon was also created and began to torment the people. The Great Spirit cast the demon into a bottomless pit. To seek revenge the demon took refuge in the fangs and stingers of poisonous creatures and continues to harm people every chance it gets.

search the Sciptures for in them (the Sciptures) you think you have eternal life but they (the Sciptures) are those which testify of Me(Jesus).

The LORD speaking: Zechariah 13:6 says and one will say to him, What are these wounds betweeen your arms?' Then he will answer, 'Those with which I was wounded in the house of my FRIENDS. (When were you pierced LORD)? Oh, when you came to earth to lay your life down for your friends!!

Jesus speaking John 15:13 says Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friend. You are My FRIENDS................

Speaking of Jesus Revelation 1:7 says Behold He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Hims. And all the tribes of the earth will MOURN because of Him.

Zechariah 12:10 says then they will look upon Me whom they pierced. Yes they will MOURN for Him.

When where you pierced Jehovah? oh, when you came to earth and was crucified on the cross!!

MOURN FOR HIM OR THEM???

Jew, Christians, and Muslims all believe that their religion is the right one, and anyone not of that religion is going to hell. If they all worship the same God and say how merciful he is, then how come he wouldn't take all three of those religions believers into heaven? Is it just that one little difference in each one that determines wheither or not you go to heaven? If there is a devout Muslim who loves God and follows his religion and is a good man, according to Christians, he is going to hell because he doesn't believe in Jesus as a diety? Or vice versa, a devout Christian believes in Jesus and not Mohammed, Muslims believe that Chrisitian is going to hell along with all the serial killers and rapists? I don't get it? Wouldn't God accept everyone who believes in him and follows the laws of their religion faithfully

Have you who make fun of and "mock" Christians ever asked yourselves why you do this or if it's even the right thing to do?
Or not?
