Never heard it put that way. Almost all the known info about the death and resurrection of Jesus is found in the four gospels. Jesus said He would be in Paradise the day of His death; as I understand it, a resting place until the Day of Judgment. But after three days, He rose and later ascended to heaven. Jesus carried the sins of everyone to His death. As opposed to actually going to Hell, I believe it was about the same as Hell in that Jesus was separated from His Father for the first time (as far as we know) in His existence. Never read about the keys of death but He obviously overcame death (figuratively speaking took the keys from Satan) and rose again.

Sheol / Hades is a realm with two divisions (Matthew 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:23; Acts 2:27-31), the abodes of the saved and the lost. The abode of the saved was called “Paradise” and “Abraham's bosom.” The abodes of the saved and the lost are separated by a "great gulf fixed" (Luke 16:26). When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He took the occupants of Paradise (believers) with Him (Ephesians 4:8-10). The lost side of Sheol / Hades has remained unchanged. All unbelieving dead go there awaiting their final judgment in the future. Did Jesus go to Sheol / Hades? Yes, according to Ephesians 4:8-10 and 1 Peter 3:18-20.

It is not found, In Matthew it is found that he was in the grave for 3 days, HELL, remember the Hebrew term for it , Sheol, Greek, Hades. Jesus was in the common grave of mankind, look the definitions of the words and you can see how the church turned it into a place of torment which is a lie, Jesus was in the grave period, Adam was told from the dust of the ground you were made and to the dust of the ground you will return, where is this hell of torment, what a great lie that has been carried on!

Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

As for the keys to death, hell, and the grave I don't believe the Bible actually says that it's just a phrase we "added" on for whenever he rose from the grave. It may actually say it though but I don't just can't remember it.

Acts 2:31 “He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in HELL, neither His flesh did see corruption.”

I Peter 3:18 & 19 tell us “...being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by His Spirit: By which also He went and preached unto the SPIRITS IN PRISON...”. Also Ephesians 4:9, “...He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?”.

To my knowledge, there are no such words in the Bible.
The idea, however, is so stated in the text of a Roman Catholic prayer, "The Apostles Creed" I believe.

"Hell" in the Bible is generally translated from Hebrew and Greek words which merely mean "grave" or death. What we think of as hell (eternal flames of pain and anguish, never to be quenched) is more accurately described in the Book of Revelation as the "Lake Of Fire."

that wasnt in the bible, and its imposible because the bible only mentioned that Christ died for 3 days but he never went hell. hell doesnt exist yet. that is why there is a judgement day. all who doesnt believe in God goes to hell. im sure atheist would react on this statement. because they believe i told them that they are all going to hell. if they tell me they tell me they are not then, they have to accept that there is a hell and they have to accept that God really exist because God will create the lake of fire or hell on the day of judgement.

Matthew 12:40 is as close as it gets to saying that.

If you go to biblegateway.com, you can see that verse in many different versions.

I think Christy above me has given the best answer.

Christy, thanks for pointing out those verses to me.
