is this because they are to frightened to actually talk to others about their way out views, they ask really stupid questions, like Hitler wasn't a Catholic? but when you go to e-mail tham because they have ignored answers they don't let you.

does this mean they are insecure about their beliefs?

yes I have noticed this, it can be annoying when they e-mail you and give you their idea of what is right, but then you go to answer and they won't let you, it is soooo frustrating. I know of the question you mentioned, yes she said that Hitler wasn't a christian, but didn't listen to the answers, and blocked her e-mail. I agree with others b4 me, you can e-mail me anytime, if you have a question or reply to my question that has been resolved you can e-mail me, because I have nothing to hide, I let everyone judge me for my philosophy, that is what I come here for, to share knowledge and gain knowledge, if you have a small ignorant mind, don't bother

Oh, please. I think of myself as a fundamentalist Christian and I do NOT block my email, which would explain a LOT of the nasty emails I get, not from people debating me, but people ATTACKING me in ways they won't do here at YA because they know they'll get reported.

I have had many people TALK with me by email which has always been interesting and sometimes challenging.

I have had countless answers reported and REMOVED by people when I've said something as simple as "*yawn*".....as if THAT is some kind of violation, just because they don't like my answer.

And I have tried to respond to someone responsibly or communicate with someone only to find out they block any way of doing so.

Yet I don't run around saying "Have you noticed how most atheists (or agnostics or evolutionists) block their email?"

Actually, I've found that a number of atheists also block their email. I'm not opposed to getting email from people, but I have to tell you that I've gotten some really strange stuff, including a proposition from someone who missed the fact that I'm married. Usually it's the person you most want to email that has their email blocked.

I've seen that more than once. It's kind of like a barking dog behind a fence. They'll be all vicious when they feel safe, but run and hide under the porch when someone tries to get close.

It probably means that they don't want email from YA users.

It is ridiculous that users can email a person on YA but elect not to receive a response. There ought to be a timed loophole for this, or something similar.

They are insecure... not just about their religious beliefs, but about most other things as well. What really gets me is when they email me, trying to "put me in my place" but won't accept return email. Insecure cowards. I think Yahoo should set it up that if you don't accept email, then you shouldn't be allowed to email others.

Probably to keep people like you from emailing them. I am not a fundie, but I don't allow email either because I don't want to be bothered by rants from random people.
