I would claim that if you do not accept evolution then you did not understand it. Either you were not taught well or you did not understand what you were taught.
Yes you are a human being, I am a human being, apart from the trolls, all of us here are human beings. Species Homo Sapiens, that evolved from other hominid species, that evolved from other primate species, that evolved from . . .
You are right, evolution does not disprove the existence of god. Some might argue that it is an odd way for an omnipotent, omnicognizant god to go about creating the human race, but there is nothing to say that god can not chose to do his thing that way. this is called theistic evolution:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theistic_evolution
So, when you say that you 'DON'T BUY EVOLUTION' do you mean that you deny the millions of pieces of evidence that shows that life has changed and species have changed into new species? Do you believe that we were created as is, despite all the evidence otherwise? Or do you mean that you do not accept that it is an unguided process and that you subscribe to a theistic evolution explanation?

If you aren't an animal, which kingdom do you find yourself in? Plant? Mineral?
I'd certainly wish to have a doctor treat me who recognized that like other animals, I'm a biological being with blood and bones rather than root, stem and leaf.
A human being is an animal of the genus homo sapiens sapiens. If you took biology (I assume you don't mean biography, which is what "bio" usually refers to), you should know this. Even if you don't believe in evolution, you should understand the need for taxonomy.
I may not think that all Christians lack learning, but might state that your particular argument seems lacking. In fact, it is not an argument, but a mere statement. You say you do not "buy" evolution. Perhaps you can tell us with your learning just what it is that leads you to believe otherwise. Perhaps you can show us some evidence that it is wrong.
Here is an interesting article which you might wish to look at.

Actually I can and do say that there is no god. While evolution doesn't say if there is or is not a god, it does cause problems in conjunction with the Creation story, but this is just a side effect of it, not it's intent.
I suppose that you are free to look at facts and not "believe" in them while taking distorted facts from creationist and believing in them, but that's exactly like rejecting physics and chemistry and accepting alchemy as being valid.

AHEM
are they?
you urself are contradicting urself my dear. you've been a biology student, then how can you explain that Man just popped out of nowhere on earth just because God willed it? Cant you see that God willed life to be on earth and hence he facilitated the environment to support life and saw to it tht it "evolved" into a final perfect creature -- MAN(kind). No one who believes in evolution necessarily disproves existence of God. So it is only fair that who believe in God dont dispell the scientific fact that humans evolved.
Get my point?

* Evolution is every much a fact.
* The theory of evolution is a theory - just like atomic theory and gravity theory. The word "theory" has a very specific meaning in a scientific context* Over 99.8% of scientists in relevant field accept evolution.
* There are no alternative scientific theories.
* There is a huge amount of evidence in support of evolution...
* And zero evidence against it.
* The 'discussion' is actually educated people trying to educate others.
* The more intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to understand and accept evolution.
* The "discussion" only happens in backward places like Turkey and parts of the united states.
Please, just stop. You're embarrassing both christians and americans in general (I don't need to ask if you're a christian or american, your question gave it away).

I believe many Christians are learned. I believe there is a God. When you experience God FOR YOURSELF in YOUR life then can't no one tell you other. Stop looking for assurance in people who don't believe that there is a God. I believe that every day, theologians are finding more evidence of Jesus as time goes by. Some should try watching the DISCOVERY channel, it does a MIND good.
Also do some studies & meditation of the word of God. I can point something out that my Pastor found out(I'm sure many others knew about this), and I went to research myself also after the sunday he preached to us about this:
The gap theory

I try not to assume anything about a group of people. As for your statement, you say that you are up-to-date on scientific knowledge and choose to ignore it. "Ignore" is the root word of ignorance.
You ARE an animal. We are are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens (Latin: "wise man" or "knowing man") in the family Hominidae (the great apes).
The beauty of human knowledge is that it is cumulative... we each have the same brain capacity as our primitive ancestors, but have shared knowledge with the next generation to build upon it. I think that to ignore this knowledge is a slap in the face not only to humankind, but to God.

um hate to say it but evolution isn't a THEORY, it is TRUTH based on Fact! I'm not sure how you can just throw out physical evidence and science. But I think your Christian studies probably put that into your mind. Try studying up on other beliefs and religions before you go judging others, and assuming things that are not true. God can exist too - he created evolution, thank you.

Yep, and humans are animals, our genus is the same as chimps and gorillas. We're apes. That's proven. I can understand people thinking that God was the one who made evolution happen (that's what I believe), but when you just throw all that away you're ignorant.
