Obviously, some have looked for God but did not find him...

and I assume many will say this is because they didn't seek properly....

What are the ways you are not supposed to look for God?

I heard about it many times and I have no clue what that is (and please if you want to make a joke, mention the fact that you made a joke :-) it's possible that I could believe you, now knowing anything at all about it :-) )

My wife's brother passed away about a year ago, and among his personal possessions were his deck of tarot cards. He was Wiccan, and was very serious about his tarot readings, and he cherished this deck of tarot cards- the cards were in his possession when he died (he committed suicide) and we were wondering if there was any kind of etiquette to dispose of them. I have always been told to never burn a Ouija board, but I have never heard anything about tarot cards. Thank you.

Serious answers only please, if you intend to just play silly buggers with some sarcastic reply like "Throw them away, duh!" please save your time, I'm not in the mood for it right now.

Last night I kissed a picture of Jesus and said please forgive me for turning my back on you and I asked him for a sign and I opened the Bible and read any random passage and it said something like "I know what you have done to Jesus for this was the Father's will, ask for forgiveness and you will be forgiven."

And it sounds like they know some basic info-so they must have been a JW one time or another. But why?? Im not a jw, i have family mems who are, and while i made it clear i dont want to be a jw, they still tell me about their religion and other stuff if i ask them. So I know a lie about the Jws when i see one. So why do people spread lies about them?? I personally think that if there Is a god, The Jws would be his chosen religion. But there isnt a god...So..Yeah

Do they realize how much stuff was left out of the book? Therefore who is to say that what we read in the bible is 100% accurate? It could very well be the truth, but it is not the wohle truth. Therefore, you shouldn't reference the Bible alone. You should study other things and grasp a better understanding. Muslims tend to reference the Quran, Tora, and yes, the Bible. Openmindedness...c'est si bon!

My theory: It is easier to condescend someone you don't understand because you are scared, than to try to understand what makes them different. If Christians were to open their minds past what THEY see, they will probably realize a great deal of their own faults. That fear of seeing how unrighteous they have been is what makes them so closeminded...truth hurts.

This is not just aimed at christians, you could fill the blank with whatever religious group you are debating, but I would like some feedback. What are your opinions on the statement I have made?

Why do you think threatening atheists with this is going to make them change their minds?
Biblically speaking when we die we go neither to heaven nor hell....but rather a waiting room of sorts until the second coming, after a 1000 years that is when we will be judged, from what I've understood. And those that are cast into hell simply cease to exist, it is the death of the soul and nothingness.Which is what atheists believe happens when we die(spiritual death) anyways, so why then do so many of you use this as a threat?

Muslims teach that Judas, not Jesus, was crucified on the cross, in a case of mistaken identity. Muslims teach that Judas Iscariot, the betrayer and thief, is the real saviour of Christians. Muslims teach that it was actually Judas who actually died on the cross and because Judas had a similar physical appearance to Jesus even his own mother didn't recognize him as the wept at the foot of the cross. For 600 years Christians had been preaching Christ crucified. Then Muhammad comes along, jumps off his camel and gets a direct revelation from God that the universal record of history and the 10,000 manuscripts of the Bible, are all wrong.

Who's rigth? Muslims? Christians?

well for those of you who dont know, i was trying to figure out why god allowed some people to screw their sister but not me?

one of the first ones i got was that adam and eve didnt have the same father, and thats news to me, i thought that was god.
but i guess she was made from his rib so..........he either screwed his sister or he screwed HIMSELF , however you wanna look at it.

another was, god allowed some people to be incestuous and then decided to ban it......well thats got hypocrite all over that.

umm, oh yah. someone said that god just made more people for adam and eves kids to get it on with, well doesnt really make sense, why wouldnt he do that to begin with.

and lastly, even if noah's kids brought their wifes, it just means they have to sleep with their uncles children, one way or another thats good ol fashion cousin loving......and dont say its cause he was so pure, cause im damn sure he was an alchoholic.

is that all you guys have?

I mean, in most women's relationships penetrative sex is more or less compulsory.

It doesn't seem fair to me that men want sex the most and women get blamed when there are unwanted consequences. If no one hold the man equally responsible then it is hardly fair to expect a woman to carry and raise a child alone...something that effects the whole of her entire life.

I know adoption is a good idea, but I don't know any women who could go through with it.
