Of course, definitely, for sure.
I got closer to the global different viewpoints about Islam and had the chance to contribute to telling people about the "real" Islam, as the real problem is that most people all over the world don't know the reality of Islam.
Also telling others teaching of Islam helps sticking to it and deepening faith within me.

Yes, it has allowed me to see that there are some very mean spirited people in the world.
You would think that in a forum such as this you would find it filled with kind hearted people. Of course I would expect disagreements to arise, but those of the intelligent type. Debate and discussion, not insults and belligerence.
Instead I have found that there are some of the meanest people I have yet to come across here. Along with some who are just here to waste peoples time along with their own.
I must believe in my heart they are here looking for something and have not yet found it. I sincerely hope they do, if not here among the kinder people of this forum then elsewhere.
I hate to think they are like this with everyone they come across. I prefer to believe they come here seeking something that they have yet to find elsewhere.
Perhaps I am deluding myself. Perhaps I am an optimist. I try to see the good in everything and everyone. And I am grateful for the new friends I have made.
Blessings,
Aviana

Yes it did!!
I learned that Islam is the most wanted religion, despite the claims and intentional distortion of some of the fanatics from other religions followers!
Attaching extremism to Islam is American made propaganda whether you believe it or not!
Ask just one Q!! Why were there more converts to Islam after 11/9 than before it?

It has caused me to look at other viewpoints and widen my horizon. I'm still Pagan, but when I got here I thought that I could only be Wiccan and varying degrees of it. Now I see That there are MANY different types of Pagans out there. What can I say, I live a sheltered life.

You mean "has" it? It's certainly made me lose track of time now and then. The place can be addictive.
As far as the Q&A goes though, no. I've been to much better on-line religion forums. Unfortunately this place is purposely not set up for "discussion", but rather for "Q&A". I've learned a couple of interesting things here and there, but most of the questions are trite or just the "soap box" variety.

none at all in terms of learning about other religions or my own. None of the numerous paradoxes presented by anyone have switched my views or faith. I have learned that there is a LOT more animosity between different faiths (and atheists) online than I ever come across in any real life interactions with people of all kinds of religious convictions.

It made me lose a LOT of respect for a LOT of people. It made me realize how dangerous certain qualities of certain people are. It made me also realize the importance of being able to stand my ground when confronted by this type of person- considering their constant reminder of their presence.
In other words- yes. I've taken the whole concept of the "religious moral high ground" out of the picture. It caused me to look at the term "good Christian" with a LOT more scrutiny- and to finally shed the misconception that very religious people are somehow deserving of some different type of respect than those who are less so. Now I judge people based on their behavior and attitudes... not their belief systems.
I've learned that the people whose personalities are equal to the sum total of their beliefs (and not much else), in my opinion, are shallow and not worthy of my attention or conversation... but still human and still deserving of respect if they are working to earn it. I think most of all- its made me stop lumping people together by their labels- probably one of the most socially limiting practices I've ever encountered.
:) Not to mention that it led me into a lot of good books, videos, and articles that have kept me entertained for hours on end. I met my girlfriend here, as well as a number of people I would gladly meet in person and hang out with regularly... from all sides of the debate/argument/pissing contest.
You ALL rock- even the psychos! R&S is a very fun and fulfilling place to visit. :)

Yes I used to feel slightly less threatened by a certain belief system.
Reading the views of people following that belief system stopped me thinking they're not all bad.
