well for those of you who dont know, i was trying to figure out why god allowed some people to screw their sister but not me?
one of the first ones i got was that adam and eve didnt have the same father, and thats news to me, i thought that was god.
but i guess she was made from his rib so..........he either screwed his sister or he screwed HIMSELF , however you wanna look at it.
another was, god allowed some people to be incestuous and then decided to ban it......well thats got hypocrite all over that.
umm, oh yah. someone said that god just made more people for adam and eves kids to get it on with, well doesnt really make sense, why wouldnt he do that to begin with.
and lastly, even if noah's kids brought their wifes, it just means they have to sleep with their uncles children, one way or another thats good ol fashion cousin loving......and dont say its cause he was so pure, cause im damn sure he was an alchoholic.
is that all you guys have?

wether or not cousin loving is ok in this instance or not.....the point is he condones it then condemns it on many different occasions.

I wonder when incest was banned. Abraham and Sarah were half brother/sister. Incest is all over the Bible, as you pointed out. I don't recall anything in the Bible stating that it was against the Biblical Gods laws. The only sexual acts that are against the 10 Commandments is Adultery. Then you have Homosexuality and Beastiality (which aren't part of the 10 Commandments... if they were such abominations I would think they would have been mentioned in the 10 somewhere). But nothing really about incest.
Incest really wasn't frowned upon until recently anyway. Tribes normally married within their own bloodline as it was thought to keep the bloodline pure. Royalty did this for the same reasons. Even "old country" families still married as close as 2nd cousins as late as the 50's. It's still done in some places but the ones who do it avoid letting others know about it since it is frowned upon.

I heard in college anthropology class that Cleopatra was the result of fourteen generation of incest, but I don't know. Basically, every example you gave was before Moses received the law; there was no law. All forms of sexual gratification tends to something bad, and God discourages it. So I assume you are talking about marrying your sister. And it is probably Caesar who forbids it. Galatians 5:19 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." It's useless to second-guess God; He does as he pleases. It is also likely that he made the best world that can be made; otherwise, he could have done better. Everyone thinks they could have done better. Something wrong with that. Could you have written Shakespeare better? Verde? Mozart? et. al.? Hell no. Better realize who you are talking about.

I did not see your first post, but if you actually read the bible you will see that Cain ,Adams son, found his wife if the land of Nod. Adam and Eve were the first, that does not make them the only.
With Noah, he had three sons, Ham Sham, and Jepath. Now if you consider that each of them had two or three children each, and yes they were cousins, but that is not incest in the since of brother and sisters. Up until 100 years or so ago, most of the Royalty of Europe married cousins. So each having three or four children each over one or two generations would have done quite well. Any thing else?

Ya I agree, I often wonder if there is a real reason why screwing your sister would be bad... Many small tribes and animals do it, and they seem to be ok.
