Just to show you could be as devout as the Muslims are? They are giving up bacon and polish sausages for God, while Christians eat those things everyday. Do you think it's possible the Muslims are showing greater spiritual discipline. They never eat a single hot ham and cheese. How many Christians can say that?

We need a brief small story of the conversion of St. Paul, which a child would understand.

Thanks in advance.

I know most religious ppl believe embryonic stem cell research is wrong. But what about other means of stem cell research? Stem cells are collected from adults and from the umbilical cord and placenta of a baby donated after birth. Neither of those methods hurt the donor and can go a long way in med research. I may have just been cured from my cancer from a stem cell transplant.

Why do ppl not want this research that can potentially save a lot of lives and cure disease? Do you believe it is wrong for a woman to go through IVF and waste embryos? Why not use those embryos that are going to be destroyed anyways for research? Is it wrong for humans to donate their bodies to science upon death?

What is your understanding of what happens when the body dies? I want to understand the different points of view that you may hold? Why do you see it in this way? How did you come to this understanding? If you do believe in something beyond this, then what is this world exactly in your understanding? Do parts of you survive while other parts die with the body? What is the purpose or reason for all of this if you belive it is maya/illusion. And if it is all illusion here, how did it all begin. Thanks for answering for each who take the time.

I prefer "The New Jerusalem Bible" but I'm sure there are newer, better translations. But then nobody has the original manuscripts, so... how do they make new translations? What are their sources?

why do people pray to Saints and the Holy Mother Mary? I mean no disrespect in this question to the Mother Mary who gave birth to Christ our Lord.

Where are they that they can hear our voices if those who are Christians cannot communicate with their loved ones after death on earth?
1 Timothy 2
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all..."

God's Word does warn of Satan deceiving people into believing that false spirits are of those who have departed before us.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=61&chapter=4&version=50

Jesus also tells us that He has prepared a wonderful place for us. I believe that we will see our loved ones in Heaven - including animals. But what about communication with anyone who has passed on before us?

Please back up what you say with Scripture from the Word of God in the Holy Bible.

I've gone to page 360 numerous times trying to put in an avatar, and it goes on the page but not on to here. Oh well.

Maybe due to the huge numbers of Violation Notices I've gotten from church folks, I'm no longer entitled to an avatar. Yeah well whatever.

Is anyone else sick and tired of being asked why we believe what we believe? Honestly, aren't we entitled to have our own beliefs as well? I really could care less who my neighbor worships or doesnt. It doesnt affect me any! If he wants to worship Stewie (Family Guy), go for it dude!
To wrap this up..... get off our backs. We are ppl too just like you. We are not all EVIL or devil worshippers, just people on the same level as everyone else. No one is better than anyone else.
Star my ? if you agree with me please.

Why do so many people believe in religions which are unfounded and clearly man-made? Especially when most of those religions contradict themselves endlessly, contain refutable innacuracies, and claim that people are inherently evil? My best guess is that these people have either been brainwashed by society, or feel inherently bad, and therefore need an "escape route" (as it were) of eternal salvation. I guess pascal's wager would count, too, but that doesn't seem to be the main reason for most people. Please base you answers on logic, also, an answer employing Psychology would be great. Furthermore, for religious persons answering the question, please don't use your faith as an answer, as it is an inherent fallacy.

Just cause it's what they're used to, or just cause of the need to keep the relatives happy...or just cause, whatever?

How many people in church actually realize there is no god? I'm wondering if there are a lot more atheists than are really counted.

I suspect this is an increasing trend, with the increases in education and scientific knowledge; but it will be a long time before we know the actual numbers. If I'm mistaken, please comment.
