Just to show you could be as devout as the Muslims are? They are giving up bacon and polish sausages for God, while Christians eat those things everyday. Do you think it's possible the Muslims are showing greater spiritual discipline. They never eat a single hot ham and cheese. How many Christians can say that?

I have to say, I think I really got you people on this one. I had forgotten about Catholics and lent, but that doesn't really compare to much alongside NEVER in your life having a delicious piece of melt-in-your mouth pork that got cooked 25 hours straight for a pig roast. I don't know of a single delicious food item that Christians always give up for God, so that made me wonder if some Christians worried they weren't doing as much for God as the Muslims were.
I am aware that Jewish people don't eat pork, either, but it was my understanding that they did so because they don't actually like the taste of pork.

LOL this is ridiculous. How many are vegetarian? How many are on a diet? This is such a silly question.
FYI, I'm pagan, and I have to be a vegetarian because of a meat allergy. Before that, I loved meat. I have to keep a strict dietary discipline - but guess what, it doesn't have ANYTHING to do with religion.

Why does giving up anything whether it is pork or anything else, make you more devout? How do do you know that Christians eat bacon and sausage every day? What about all the vegetarians. It is my understand that people of the Jewish faith also abstain from eating pork so does that make them as devout as Muslims. Personally I think just getting on with your fellow man instead of trying to kill him shows far more devotion than giving up certain foods.

Why should they want to say that ? How many Muslims can say that they enjoy a nice ham dinner ?
They have their reasons for not eating pork . Their reason is not everybody's reason .
Not eating pork is a show of religious discipline only if that is your belief . Do Hindus show religious discipline by not eating beef ? Can you say that ?
When it comes to deciding if certain foods are "clean" as the mullahs , rabbis , and gurus say , I'll trust the US meat inspectors over the preachers .

We are not under the law.
1 Tim 4:3
They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth."
Personally I am a vegetarian and have been for 10 years. This technically is the way God made us, however I do it more for animal issue than anything else.

God and I are working on forcing the whole world including Christians to once again follow the clean and unclean food laws in Leviticus chapter 11.

In the Book of Acts and others too; it say that ones that insist on strict diets are weak people and it is wrong of us to try and force them to another way. But
God said that if all stuck to the diet he game Moses thousands of years earlier, that they would not get sick. I find it interesting that scientists are finding if one permits no fats in them and uses only olive oil (in some cases Canola oil too) that many heath problems are removed or go away all together.
What causes the dementia older people get? Could it be pork? I don't know.

Actually, the only pork I eats is what they put in hot dogs (which, I don't eat very often--maybe 2 x a year).
I'm not that big of a fan of pork. In fact, the very word makes me want to gag.

I have viewed a extensive form of exceptional religions. I concluded that Islam isn't my private alternative for a faith; nevertheless, I don't have any trouble with Muslims (or practitioners of every other religion) who train their faith in peace. I'm no longer fascinated with bashing different humans's ideals. I do recognise a couple of Christians who changed to Islam, and so they look to be completely happy with their alternative.

pork / swine / pig is unclean and is not food....
it is in the dietary laws of the Old Testament in Leviticus and Deuteronomy...
and it was not nailed to the cross...Jesus did not change the rules and call all animals clean...
Jesus referred to man...the Jews and the Gentiles that all of them are clean...his blood made all men clean...
Christians who know their Bible DO NOT EAT THAT WHICH IS UNCLEAN....
Christians do not eat pig, cat, dog, rat, vulture, crab, clam. etc...
most Christians make excuses or babble in ignorance and never bother to read in their Bible what it clearly says...
they are being double minded and hypocritical...diseases and sickness yet they will not put down the fork and think about WHAT WOULD JESUS EAT??
By this ignorance the foolish Muslim is able to point out something the rest of the world has always known...don't eat that....
and as Christians we are not giving a very good testimony of God by ignoring this....

The reason for not eating pork in the Bible is because it's bad for your heath just like today. pigs are unclean. It's a sin against your flesh body not your soul
