we're going to heaven, unlike the majority of human beings who have ever walked the Earth?

I'm flattered that God saw fit to have me born into the one religion that will save me, when He will send most of the people He created to Hell.

I read Society and Culture a lot because it has some interesting stuff but so many of the questions are from R&S. I don't really have a problem with that except the majority (it seems) is all about atheists and theists having their little battles.

My question is: Why can't you leave each other alone?!?! That way I don't have to read 10 questions a page about the never ending battle between you two. You both have valid points but they've already been made a 100X's before. Get over it!

But, I've heard those days may have been billions of years in our time, today.

My question is, if those days may have been billions of years or similar, why does one refer to them as DAYS and not BILLIONS OF YEARS?!

Christ not only honored the Sabbath throughout his life upon the earth, but he provided that its sacred claims should be remembered and honored after his death and resurrection. When warning his disciples of the destruction of Jerusalem, which did not take place until forty years after his ascension, he said, "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day; for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time." In accordance with his instruction, the followers of Christ were enabled to depart from the besieged city, and escape to the mountains, not taking their flight either in the winter, nor upon the Sabbath day. After the death of Christ the disciples "rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment." After the ascension of Christ, Paul, the great apostle to the Gentiles, preached to both Jews and Gentiles "on the Sabbath day."

Note: The term "evolutionist" here only applies to those who accept evolution as a fact and theory.

Last I checked the percentage of Americans who don't 'believe' in evolution is 52%. Can we agree that most, if not all, of them don't 'believe' in something that doesn't even exist in the scientific community? They disagree with a definition of evolution that they themselves make up, or comes about from a misconception that is circulating or from a lie. If they understood what evolution really was, chances are they wouldn't reject it.

"Evolution is random chance!"
"Evolution says humans come from monkeys!"
And so on... They reject a definition that doesn't even fit what they're supposed to be rejecting.

I herad a history of voodoo and it said that voodoo came from africa as a religion. But it said that africans practice voodoo to communicate with their ancerstors from way back. And first of alll i don't berlive voodoo is the work of the devil. Look at the chinese and the indians they worship different gods and budha and know one ever said that it was something evil. I think hollywood is the one to blame for suh terrible things like this. It's not the devil work the africans used it to communicate with their ancestors.

This is something I I would like to have opinions about.
I STAND BY THE DOOR

I stand by the door,
I neither go too far in, nor stay too far out,
The door is the most important door in the world
It is the door through which men walk when they find God.
There's no use my going way inside, and staying there, when so many are still outside and they, as much as I, Crave to know where the door is.
An all that so many ever find Is only the wall where a door ought to be.
They creep along the wall like blind men,
With outstretched, groping hands;
Feeling for a door, knowing there must be a door, Yet they never find it.

As u can see their is a great attack on the men and women of God so you don't need to know any details all you need to know is that it is time pray like never before. Get on the face and pray for the Leadership as a whole. Not just the people in the church but also the President and his staff, the Government as a whole. It is time to pray. So let's not look at what men can do but what GOD can do

i've never really thought about religion that much. I've been brought up in a family of atheists, but i want to believe in God. I really need something to believe in right now. I'm in a pretty bad place emotionally + i can't trust myself anymore. I need something to trust in. Would putting my faith in God help? How do i let Him in, after years of atheism?

Fasting is too hard to cope with sometimes and I find myself just getting so annoyed and really disliking fasting because I want to eat. Other days I love fasting so much because I really enjoy my food and feel so thankful. I just feel that I'm not fasting properly because of these thoughts of wanting to quit and disliking it. Sometimes I just can't appreciate it when I'm so hungry! Is this a problem?

I have read numerous people on here talk bad about atheists, one person said that atheists are "ungodly, beastly, and animalistic"
If they are so "good" and "'christ' like", then how come they are always putting us down? I think it is ridiculous...they wonder why we/I am not a christian...there are many reasons, but if that is what a "christian" acts like then I most def. do NOT want to be a christian.

I am a nice person, and I don't have to put everyone down for their religion...why can't christians be like this?

1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16.

Why is it that people are not experiencing the abundant life?

2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man Is Sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" John 1:12

"Any woman who prays with her head unveiled dishonors her head. It is the same as if her head were shaven, for if a woman will not veil herself then she should cut off her hair. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven , let her wear a veil. (1 Corenthians 11 :5).

Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
(MATT 5:28-29).

TIT002:005 - To be discreet, chaste, keepers at HOME, good, OBEDIENT to their HUSBANDS...

1PE 3:001 - Likewise, ye wives, be in SUBJECTION to your own HUSBANDS. -------

Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in SUBMISSION, as the Law says. -- 1 Corinthians 14:34

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach [didaskein], nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (1 Timothy 2:11-12)

Ecclesiastes 7:26 KJV: And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her but she will catch whoever continues to sin. (GOD'S WORD®)

"I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men".

--1 Timothy 2:11-14

---

Genesis 3:16 ----Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy conception; in pain thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

The infamous verse of the KORAN

". . . As to those women on whose part you fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (also: ignore them/seperate from them). . ." (4:34)

Many tried to "beat" around the bush to "beat" the problem generated by the "beat" of 4:34.

Most scholars now agree that the correct translation to this comprehensive word is either IGNORE or TAKE AWAY or SEPARATION FOR A TIME.

So as a last resort before DIVORCE the couple should seperate for a time until reconciliation can be made.

A Famous Multi-Meaning Word

The problem comes from the word "Idribuhunne" which we used to translate as "beat them". The root of this word is "DaRaBa". If you look at any Arabic dictionary you will find a long list of meanings ascribed to this word. That list is one of the longest list in whole Arabic dictionary. It can be said that "DaRaBa" is the number-one multi-meaning word in Arabic. It has so many different meanings, we can find numerous different meanings ascribed to it in the Quran.

Do early Judaic teachings sent from Jesus/Father/Holy Ghost teach that Women are Fat and Stupid ?

Referring to the Rabbis' opinions on women the above mentioned study also finds:

"A woman has no wisdom, except in handling her spindle" (Rabbi Eliezer, bYoma 66b)."

"women are gluttonous" (mToh. 7.9; tToh.8.16),

"they give off a strong odor of perspiration ('she must use perfume'), they have a higher voice ('her voice is penetrating')
(all examples from Gen.R.17,8)

The rabbis explained all this differences on the basis of the story of creation, as R.Joshua explained to his disciples (ibid.): women have a bad odor because they were created from flesh and not, like men, from earth..." [73]

If Jesus was God made flesh, and God sacrificed himself for our sins, does that mean that God is dead?

How can it be a true sacrifice on God's part if Jesus's "death" was only temporary?

First, I would like to say that the pagans on here always seem very friendly and well-mannered, and don't seem to have a vendetta against anyone. Which is refreshing. I would really like to know what pagans believe, who they believe in, and if possible, why. I'm not trying to compare religions, and I'm not looking to make a change. I am just seriously interested. Thanks.
