I do not believe because I have seen no evidence that proves He exists. There are many religions and religious texts that predate Christianity and the Bible, so if someone chose to believe in a god I don't understand why they would choose the God of the Old Testament. Finally, I think that a jealous, vengeful, violent God (as He is depicted in the Old Testament) is not consistent with the omniscient, omnipotent deity I am to believe He is. But the fact that so many "Christians" seem so angry does not make me want to join them.
I have no problem with others believing in this God (or any other god(s) for that matter.

besides the shown fact that there is no information God exists, it truly does not make sense. think of approximately it. An invisible guy interior the sky who watches each thing seven billion human beings do each minute of every day? And this god loves and protects all of them, even however there are 1000's of human beings death terrible deaths every day? in addition to, you may evaluate that faith has led to massive wars, and bombings for the duration of historic previous, and nevertheless does on the instant. additionally, faith heavily retarded scientific progression for the duration of the dark a protracted time, while it destroyed any information of any form of technological understanding, or training, with the intention to proceed tricking harmless human beings out of their funds.

I'm not Atheist but wanted to put out food for thought.

Science is the evidence. The scientist of front, progressive thinkers--not the main stream -follow the leader ones the great ones ask their peers---What are the odds this world developed, as it has, by chance? Much less the universe! That the four forces of nature ah. People should at least research--all of us. I want to preach but I refrain.

Read the Bible, It will explain why they do they things they do. The true and real answer is there - not these comments below. There are variety of reasons They = Some. They choose not to believe in it because they do not want to see the truth. In Revelations, it is revealed that some people will continue to do evil than good. God and Jesus already proved it....it is their free will if they want to believe in truth or chase a man's explanation. God Bless You! He loves you completely. I pray that he will soften their hearts and open their eyes.

nice question Ravenous Q, its a pity you havent had any logical answers.....

I was reading Peoples answers and almost all have answered "No evidence"...WOW...last time i checked there was as much evidence for the existance of a god as there was for the opposite...its quite interesting, were you aware that Science (yes science!) leaves plenty of room for some sort of deity, i find that quite interesting don't you?

anyway, im not an atheist, im agnostic.....im one of the few that have relised that we cant prove or disprove the existance of a god (BY DEFINITION!!!!)..im not saying not to question it, im just saying dont expect an answer!

No evidence.

What are you talking about? You asked for atheists. I'm an atheist. Those 2 words sum up the majority of the reason I don't believe in "god."

First time I have ever seen a troll admit to being a troll. You should win something for your honesty about this. My answer to the question is...I don't like to fill in the blanks of my understanding reality with explanations that would defy natural laws and logic.

A reason for believing in something is simply a justification. Existence does not require a reason. What exists can be studied, discovered, and understood. What does not exist requires nothing.

Atheism is the default condition. Everyone is atheist on the day they're born. Thus, atheism doesn't call for reasons or excuses. Presumably one should have a reason for not being an atheist.

I don't believe in God because I don't trust the people that claim that God exist.
