This is something I I would like to have opinions about.
I STAND BY THE DOOR

I stand by the door,
I neither go too far in, nor stay too far out,
The door is the most important door in the world
It is the door through which men walk when they find God.
There's no use my going way inside, and staying there, when so many are still outside and they, as much as I, Crave to know where the door is.
An all that so many ever find Is only the wall where a door ought to be.
They creep along the wall like blind men,
With outstretched, groping hands;
Feeling for a door, knowing there must be a door, Yet they never find it.

I think this is obviously talking about the difference between theists and atheists. Although, it's clearly written from a religious or theist point of view because no Atheist would describe themselves as 'creeping like blind men' just because they do not believe in god/s.

I feel that someone's obsessive compulsion for a door leads to a horrible metaphor in converting others to a religion feature The god (Muslim, Christian, Jewish)

In short I think a better metaphor is in order.

The light of God's love always leads us to the door!

I think it said somewhere in the bible that God wishes us to be either hot or cold, but not lukewarm.

Shane Claiborne has an excellent take on this in his book Irresistible Revolution. I highly recommend it.

The Christian life is not about tiptoeing safely to our deaths, but it's about running, skipping, jumping toward life.

We have been told we can save no one but ourselves, and then only if we are touched by G-d's grace. Those who are too blind to see will only drag you down in their insistence their eyes are fine. You can lead by example, only.

Dang... a metaphorical justification for self-delusion. Who'd'a thunk it?

You stand by your door, I'll sit on my fence and never ask you to join me.
