This is especially aimed at theists. I want some reasonable answers. Nothing stupid like Jesus said this or that. What do YOU think as a person with a functioning brain.

Atheists only have one thing in common; the disbelief in god.
There is no dogma to believe in evolution and all that scientific stuff. I'm an atheist I personally believe that a Giant Slime Toad sneezed out the universe 500 billion years ago. But that's just me. That doesn't make the Giant Slime Toad a God it just makes it very very big.

Now Christians have a whole Bible they have to answer for. They have to somehow prove that creationism happened, that there was a global flood, that a guy lived in a fish, that a prophet was born from a virgin, that the earth is like 6000 years old (YE) and everything else.

I hope you Christians understand this.

So if there's another question regarding evolution, the age of the earth and the big bang theory just direct them to the science section.

Is this the formula for the making of the universe.?..

Nothing + Nothing = two elements + time = 92 natural elements + time = all physical laws and a completely structured universe of systems, stars, planets, and moons orbiting in perfect balance and order....... does that sound right?
somehow all this comming from nothing makes no sence to me, there has to be something outside of the realm of space, time and matter... God
If you take the simplest form of matter and break it down to its most simple form, it still has no reason for its existance in the first place?.. there has to be an outside creator...i know the red shift theory and all the big bang theories but they make no sence to me, all theories start out with matter already exsisting, no atheist gives me reasons not to beleive in God... Please give me respectful and honest answers... how is matter created and why?

They are about glasses about 5 inches tall, white wax, with Hebrew writing on the label (and thats about it). I somehow have a box of them....
Are they for a holiday? memorial?

Would it be offensive in some way if I were to donate them to a community center?

I want you to seriously consider this, let's see if we are capable of true tolerance of other people's beliefs. So imagine that your current religion doesn't exist, what would be you 2nd choice and why?

' In God We Trust Marks Fiftieth Anniversary '
After 50 years of appearing on the back of U.S. dollar bills, the words “In God We Trust” continue to be at the center of debate with some courts examining whether references to God in the public sphere violates the Constitution’s separation of church and state.

I'm not an evolutionary biologist, but I atleast read enough to understand that natural selection does not offer an explanation of the origin of life.
Why do many Christians on this forum mistakenly claim that evolution means life came from nothing? Is it a lack of education or willful ignorance?

Can someone explain these terms/beliefs to me? As in "what does someone who is agnostic believe"?

I would appreciate honest answers. I am not mocking/judging, etc. I only wish to learn more about other faiths.
Thanks.

What do you stand for? I'm not talking about the meaning of life in general, I'm talking about the meaning of life in particular.
You were born for a reason.
What did you come here to say?
Is it true that the nucleus of an atom is composed of compressed information?
What is the archetype...the root pattern of you?
Is t true, that each of us is born to make a unique, lasting impression on the Universe at large?
What did you come here to do?
Is it true, that each of us is born with a secret feeling that there's something uniquely special about us?
What do you mean?

When you consider historical claims such as "ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny" and then have frauds like Haekel modify drawings and add fish gills to embryos to justify his fuhrer's "ethnic cleansing". When vestigal organs once claimed as useless (such as the appendix) are later found to have a legitimate function. When "apemen" such as Nebraska man (pig tooth), Piltdown man (hoax based on human skullcap and orangutan's jaw), and Ramapithecus (extinct orangutan) are presented as missing links. Makes me wonder what else evolutionists are trying to pass as reliable science.

The Bible says it's OK to sell your daughter to slavery.

Government says freedom of religion.

Could someone sell their daughter to slavery in another country and say it's part of their religion as an excuse to make money?

I got in trouble for asking this because everybody here in Tennessee are Bible pushers and not a smart Atheist like me.

And when my "friends" if that's what you want to call them, started treating me differently when they found out I was. I had been "friends" with them for over 2 months and all of a sudden I'm not cool enough to hang with them anymore. What's with that? Ha.

Not that I care, because I hate everyone here anyways, but I'm just saying, you can't treat somebody you've known for awhile and them considered you "friend" then all of a sudden treat you differently because I have a different religion.

Many people, of many different faiths believe that non-believers are going to hell.

What do you believe the manifestation of hell would be? Fire and brimstone? The worst experience of you life lived over and over again? Abscene of a divine prescene?

If you don't believe in hell, you don't need to answer.
