The trinity is based on ancient babylonian and Egyptian religions. There is absolutely no proof of a trinity in the Bible.

Unlike what some believe, the "Christian" trinity is not based on the Nicene Creed. Instead, it is base on the later Athanasian Creed. In part, it says: "The Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not Three Almighties but One Almighty. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not Three Gods, but One God."

The Bible, on the other hand, does NOT describe God in that manner. At John 17:3, Jesus said of his Father: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

So, according to the Bible, it's not a 3-in-one God; it's a one-in-one God.

The Jews established monotheism, rendering all other gods unnecessary. Christianity came from Judaism. The Christians added Jesus as the son of God to create a new religion, and yet tried to maintain monotheism. That is how they created the concept of Trinity.

The son of God later came to earth in human form to die for the sin of humans. In essence, the son of God sacrificed his human body to please the father. The whole tenet of Christianity is based on human sacrifice. No concept is more convoluted than Trinity.

Monotheism does not really work, because the almighty god still needs a partner, Satan. So there are actually four gods in Christianity: father, son , holy ghost and Satan.

John 1:29 - 34 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Luke 3:21 and 22
As Jesus was being baptized the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descending on Him in the form of a dove. A voice from heaven said "You are my beloved Son and I am fully pleased with you."
All three were there, the Father speaking, the Holy Spirit descending and The Son of God in whom God is fully pleased.

The council of Nicea run by Emperor Constantine, a non-Christian at the time picked out of political ties with his allies that God is three personages that are one in substance or essence.

The doctrine of mass control of people.

Jesus taught that we are one with God. In fact God lives within us. Buddha agreed with this unified concept but found the principle so consistent that he choose not to call it God, after all Gods seem to be petty and terrible. The Father Jesus taught about is neither petty nor terrible but is the driving force in each of us.

It's based on the words of God himself. In the Bible we find the Father God, the Son God, and the Holy Spirit. These three make up what we call the "Trinity".

Around 325 AD, at the first council of Nicea, it was decided that Jesus was of the same substance as god, and not of like substance of god. At that point, Jesus attained godhood, and this was the basis of the trinity concept.
