This is a serious question. If I were to get in like a car wreck or something and got amnesia and didn't remember anything about my life...would I still be an atheist, would I feel like theres no god? Or would I be indifferent towards the idea of a god? Is there a possibily that I could become religious again, or would I most likely become an atheist again?

I'm just curious how that would work...

It seems like there is an exponentially growing number of Atheists in the general population now a days. Does it just seem like that or are there really more? In history I don't feel like we hear about Atheists or non-religious like in the 50's for instance. (although the topic might not have been relevant to write about)

Now, just to let you know, I'm Atheist and I find this explantation a little bit lacking...but here we go:
"This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering
that I have seen. It's an explanation people will understand :

A lady went to a beauty shop to have her hair cut and her nails painted
and
trimmed. As the lady began to work, they began to have a good
conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the beautician said :
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked Sheryl who has MS.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't
exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would
there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of
these things."
Then Sheryl thought for a moment, but didn't respond because she didn't
want to start an argument. The beautician just finished her job and the
customer left the shop. Just after she left the beauty shop, she saw a
woman in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and not groomed at all.
She looked dirty and unkempt.

Then Sheryl turned back and entered the beauty shop again and she said to
the beautician: "You know what? Beauticians do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised beautician. "I am here, and I
am a beautician, and I just worked on you!"

"No!" Sheryl exclaimed. "Beauticians don't exist because if they did,
there
would be no people with dirty long hair and be very unkempt, like that
woman outside."

"Ah, but beauticians DO exist! What happens is people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed Sheryl. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What
happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why
there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

i see so many people being really nasty and mean to you, it makes me mad for you. so if you are the ones being attacked, you ever wish for them to get what they deserve? like run over by a train,or be knocked off of their pedestal, what about wishing some of them to go to hell. be honest

Given that the worlds various bibles/religions are, and have been used since their inception, to fuel hate, war, elevate people to (perceived) power...control masses ( pun intended ) of people...insight fear and prejudice... wouldn't it make sense that the devil himself is behind world religion?... how else would you get otherwise good hearted people to be so evil to one another while making them feel good about it?..

Iam a muslim. The college where i study consists of mostly non muslim students. So sometimes i feel a bit lonely and think that there's no one there with whom i can share my thoughts and feelings.

I know catholics can drink, but is it okay for them also to get drunk according to their beliefs? And if so, could someone explain the rational behind why? My friend is catholic and we were having this discussion. To me, the bible clearly states drinking is okay, but to over consume is wrong. But maybe I am missing something. Thanks!

why don't the christian churches hand over some of that cash that they are raking in to the disaster stricken places in the world! they are the richest institutions in the world ! are they this greedy that they only know how to take but not to give?

I have news for all you so called christians in this world!

Have you come to the assumption that God does not exist beceause "there is a lack of evidence"? Or have you really searched out the support there is for God and logically refuted that support. Any person who argues intellectually understands why their opposition believes what they believe and can then refute their arguments. Can you do this? Or do you just simply say "there is no evidence"? Which is ignorant, especially when talking about christianity and the validity of the Bible. And yes, as a christain I believe i could do this for atheism. I know there are brilliant atheists who can do this, I would like to hear from you. I understand this may call for lengthy answer. I believe in evolution, so don't try to use it against christianity, I believe evoluton and christianity are completely congruent with eachother.
