You don't need help. You need to keep thinking. You're not losing your faith. You're waking up from it.

There's far more than just the Egyptians. The northern Europeans had a concept of hell which was a frozen wasteland. See, almost every society that has ever existed has used the afterlife as a way of controlling people and explaining things. This world is not at all fair. So the only way to make sense of it all is to imagine there's an afterlife where the bad people will be punished and the good people will be rewarded.

Nothing makes their idea false or your idea true. When it comes to questions of life after death, I think that It's really a personal decision. If you choose to believe in heaven after you die, so be it. There's no way to really answer the question, it's all up to what you decide is right for you to believe. Just don't force those beliefs on other people like some of the morons who answered before me.

Saying that "Jesus rose from the dead" doesn't make it so, nor does it make it any more or less true than the ancient Egyptians beliefs about the after life. Most of the Christian religion was stolen from mythology of Mithras anyway.

Because as Christians we know Jesus lives.

Besides which there is the sealing of the Holy Spirit.

Some christians also experience miraculous and supernatural actions of God.

There is also the fact that faith in Messiah Jesus produces results in many believers lives.

There are some healing ministries that have seen people raised from the dead (like Lazarus, Widow of Nain's son, and Jairus' daughter). As well as other powerful ministries.

Egyptian gods are a bit disgusting in form, so if you were looking for an alternative rival to the christian understanding, they would not be a good one.

Nothing makes it false. The Egyptians have their religion which does find its roots in Christianity. In example, the plagues of Egypt and such. The Bible's God punished Egypt as he punishes others throughout the book he wrote for Moses before Egypt's time.

Well, it could be that whole have to be mummified thing. That's really kind of silly, that you can't go to the afterlife if your body isn't mummified. At least with the christian afterlife, we are judged individually, not on what happens to our bodies after we die or on the wealth accumulated during our lives, but on what's really important.

Their dynasties were destroyed.Wonder how that came to be?Sound like a story from the book of Exodus. The Egyptians were idolaters.Their gods didn't respond when the waters of the Dead Sea was killing their army.

Why should another religion be false? Such beliefs are arrogant and very outdated. Where do you think the church got all of its ideas? You don't need help but a pat on the back. It is very hard to break away from xtianity, I found it very hard and ended up going back for a while. keep asking questions, it is natural.

"what makes the Egyptians idea of afterlife false and ours true?"

Nothing at all aside from popularity and who happens to believe what at the moment.

Nothing makes either assumption true. Why do you not think that the Egyptians got it right, and your beliefs are false? Honestly, can you come up with any sound reasoning?
