Just wanted you guys to know that the Texas state pledge of allegiance has been recited in the state's classrooms now for four years. Unfortunately, heathens were still committing crimes and not converting to Christianity, so starting this year, the state added "under god" to the state pledge.

Please join me in Texas since all our problems are now solved. :)

Obviously (unless they're a public figure), I don't want a name, I just want to hear what you think the worst moral action is of everybody you've ever interacted with.

Can any Christian prove (or provide evidence suggesting) that deism is a false belief and that Christianity is more likely?

"This divine whisper which enters in by the ear of the soul is not only substantial knowledge, but a manifestation also of the truths of the Divinity, and a revelation of the secret mysteries thereof. For in general, in the Holy Scriptures, every communication of God said to enter in by the ear is a manifestation of pure truths to the understanding, or a revelation of the secrets of God. These are revelations on purely spiritual visions, and are communicated directly to the soul without the intervention of the senses, and thus, what God communicates through the spiritual ear is most profound and most certain."
~St. John of the Cross, "The Spiritual Canticle of the Soul"

So you think it's a monotheistic religion? 1 God, god, or deity...nothing else?

Psalsm 82:1 "God stands in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he passes judgment."

Hmmm...sounds like there is more than 1 God in Christianity...

As an atheist, it seems odd to me that those who have traditionally been critical of religion in general have made an exception for Islam, the most intolerant of all religions. Is this not hypocritical? Please don’t insult your intelligence by denying this. Why are so many desperate to portray Islam as a "peaceful religion" despite overwhelming contrary evidence? Can we think of any other religion where suicide bombers are a regular occurrence throughout the world? I realize that individual Muslims can be peaceful, but I'm talking about ideology not a demographic group. Open your eyes to the world around you. However impolitic it may seem, modern Islam is the equivalent of 14th century Christianity. So why do we insist on giving Islam such a positive spin? Is there any other religion in the world which needs such a huge PR campaign to deflect criticism?

Research shows that certain kinds of pedophilia and hebephilia (adults who molest teens) are caused when adults are made ashamed and detached from their adult sexuality. Unlike "fixated" pedophiles who molest children because they themselves are stuck in a retarded psychological maturation resulting from unresolved formative sexual and emotional issues, a "regressed" pedophile is an adult with a mature sexuality (either gay or straight) but they return to an earlier, less mature psychological state and engage in sexual contact with children due to stress, emotional trauma or repression or disgust with their own adult sexual feelings. This is exactly what ex-gay therapy does to gay people- make them ashamed, disgusted and repressed about having a sexual relationship with another consenting adult. When they cannot play it straight or leave and learn to be happy with who they are, who do they vent their sexual frustrations on?

Are our children more at risk now? What are your thoughts?

Why did an "all-loving" God kill all of mankind and animals, only sparing Noah and his family, and the animals on the ark?

Why did an "all-loving" God kill all of the first-born sons of Egypt?

Why did an "all-knowing" God have trouble finding Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden after they ate the forbidden fruit?

Why did an "all-powerful" God allow Lucifer to rebel against him and not just shut him down from the beginning, thus negating the effect of evil into a Utopian world?

(Warning: If you’re too lazy to read a long question, don’t bother answering. You’d be better off in P&S.)

First state your religion, then please answer the following:
1. Did you or would you use traditional wedding vows? What do you think of the "love, honor, and obey" part of the woman's vow, whereas with the man the word "obey" isn't there?

2. Did you/would you be walked down the aisle with your father, or have you wife walked down with hers? Does the symbolism of this bother you, or do you just write it off as tradition?

3. Along those lines: what do you think about the man asking the woman's father for permission to marry her?

4. When you are pronounced man and wife and introduced as such to the audience, how did you or would you like to be introduced? Examples being: "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith," "John and Jane Smith," etc.

I'm wondering everyone's feelings on wedding traditions, and how (if at all) your religious background influenced your views.

I am 56 and a Jesus lover for 53 years, but always looking to be a better Christian. My personality type leads me to want to be self sufficient and prideful even when I don't know it. God blessed me with many abilities but my weakness is to forget it is all Him.I am not outwardly prideful, but I think I appear this way and think this way. I try to take control. I have a CEO personality type and test that way even in spiritual assement tests over and over and I know Pastors often have the same problem for if one is created a strong leader it is so easy to go astray with pride thinking you are doing right and actually forgetting to confer with God. I have often suffered the consequences but don't mean to be prideful, only following my leader abilities. I need to think about pride not in an arrogant way but in more of a "keep looking to God" and get rid of pride. I hope this makes sense ???? I am always trying to get closer to the earthen vessel God wants me to be.

I am in no way trying to trash-talk, I just want to know if you do celebrate these holidays or not.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

If it was not created by a higher power, then how? Ignore the fundamentalists religious answers for how the Universe was created. I'm not going to argue with you about this because it wouldn't do any good, but I'm just curious.

that the serpant was indeed satan?

if this is so, how can u justify that god punished serpants for satans doing? (genesis 3:14)

seems kind of unfair that an animal be punished when it wasnt an animal who committed the "crime"...
