If it was not created by a higher power, then how? Ignore the fundamentalists religious answers for how the Universe was created. I'm not going to argue with you about this because it wouldn't do any good, but I'm just curious.

I know you don't know, but doesn't it seem logical to admit to the possibility that there is a higher power?

It, like everything else arises, came about due to causes and conditions, is changing and impermanent.

How long did it take human beings to come up with the idea of bacteria as a fundamental cause of infection? Thousands of years.
We found out that the universe is expanding in the 1920-30's mostly from work by Edwin Hubble. Could we have a little more than 90 years to go from seeing expansion to explaining every single detail of the fundamental creation of all matter and energy?
As doctors were investigating disease, at what point shold they have just accepted that there is a higher power? Do they stop researching at that point? Do you see that the answer "higher power" to all things scientific would stop all research and prevent you from having a CD player, a car, antibiotics, aspirin, the internet, etc...?
The "god of the gaps" argument does absolutely no credit to you nor to the "god" that you hang the latest unsolved phenomena on. People 300 years ago could have said the same thing about lightning or earthquakes. Do you think god "creates" every single earthquake? Or do you beleive in plate tectonics as a viable explanation for a natural occurrence?

Who cares HOW it was created. Just be thankful for the fact that it has always existed, so we can exist within it.

If it was created by a higher power, why do I have to assume that this power hears my prayers or gives a rat's behind if I eat pork or lust after a woman?

If I ask you where god came from.. you're probably going to say that "he always existed"
Is not saying that the universe always existed equally as logical?

No one knows, and no one claims to know. Isn't it awesome that we can be honest with our own ignorance and not resort to making up nonsense to fill the gaps of our understanding?
