A homocidal maniac who does it in the name of God? A faithful church goer who embezzles from his company? A gay preacher? A dead man who says the f* word when he stubs his toe on the pearly gates? Someone who appears to be faithful but has a secret affair?

I have heard that money is the root of all evil, but I think religion and the desire for power is actually the true evil root.

Think about it....I although churches want our money, what they are really after is our soul and submission to their beliefs.

So yes or no.....is religion really the true root of evil?

My son is going to be baptised (Catholic ceremony) and I am wondering if it's expected/tradition to give the Godparents something as a gift/thank you. If so, what do you suggest?

Thanks!

woud you exhibit some senselessness by going to the bar to attack the bar's innocent and faithful patrons who truly enjoy their spirits in their haven of choice?

Why would you not stick to your territory where there's no interesting talk about positive future expectations and the hope of seeing the destruction of wicked evil enemies?

I learned that I am going straight to hell because I am evil and consort with demons and the devil. The best part is that I am not even aware of doing it because I am blind.

1. Biblical Law. Matthew 5:17-18 says quite clearly that Jesus demands Christians follow Old Testament law completely, to the smallest possible point. Why don’t they?

2. Infanticide. The modern Christian churches of the world tend to gloss the fact that God is a child killer—the 10th plague in Egypt—and say that Jesus set this right. Ignoring for a moment that the crucifixion is just one more child killing to fulfill God’s will, why does Jesus say he also will kill children in Revelation 2:23?

3. Fact or Allegory. The Bible says the Earth is between 6,000 and 8,000 years old, that it was created in 7 days, and that Man is made of dirt and Woman a piece of Man. Most churches today say that this is allegory. What passages of the Bible support it all being just allegory?

4. Needle’s Eye. Jesus said rich men don’t go to Heaven easily and even implied that it wasn’t possible. Why are so many people with money and property Christian?

con*tent:
adjective - in a state of peaceful happiness
noun - a state of satisfaction

Can Satan be content *AND* jealous of God? Can Satan be content *and* want to unseat God?

Is jealousy possible if one is 100% content?

I ask because people in my last question tried to say that Satan was 100% content and jealous of God. This is impossible if you understand the definitions of both words. If Satan wanted to be God, then he was not in a "a state of satisfaction".

So, true or false: At the time of the revolt, and as evidenced by his jealousy and pride, Satan was not 100% content with his existence in Heaven.

More importantly, how many of them were based on content? (I can give you at least two big ones, but I've never counted all of them)

Whenever someone asks about the 4000 changes in the BoM, people are quick to respond with "they were grammatical changes." I agree that most of them (probably at lest 3500 of them) were of this variety, but it seems that "grammar" is an oft-used scapegoat to deflect inquiry regarding more substantial changes.

Can anyone provide a number? Or maybe a list?

Disclaimer: This is a truth-seeking question. I actually DO want to know. Please refrain from posting the following:

"You are ignorant"
"Find something better to do"
"Go to lds.org: it has all the answers you're looking for"
"You should only listen to mormons because nobody else really knows"

All answers are appreciated, especially those with links or sources. Thank you, and kindest regards to all.

I believe that unless people become members of the family of God, praying to God is a waste of time. God will not answer prayer if we stand outside of His eternal family of Christian believers.

Moreover, we should end all our prayers by saying "in the name of Jesus." Of course, this only applies to Christians (members of the family of God).

I cannot comprehend why people who are not saved expect God to answer their prayers.

Otherwise, I see no difference between a Christain and a nonChristian asking God for help in prayer.

I not talking about repentance. I am talking about praying for wealth, cure for illnesses, etc.

Why would anyone expect God to answer prayers if repentance has not taken place in the life of that person?

Your thoughts?

"The Jews and the Christians, and the hypocrites, who are conspiring with them, may try however hard they may to extinguish this Light of Allah, it will shine forth and spread in the world in all its fullness, and the Religion brought by the true Messenger of Allah shall prevail over every other religion however hateful it may be to the pagans and polytheists."
--Holy Quran -9.32-34

Beacause she is a kafir-murtad and agent of the enemies of Allah.
But certainly she is not alone. There is no extra right that
women might have other than what is sanctioned by God
alone in Islam. Female circumcision has nothing to do
with Islam--but is an abhored cultural practice in some African
Muslim countries(it's not practiced by most Muslims). Freedom of speech is not an absolute value. Try to deny the Holocaust in some
West European countries and see what happens to you.
Homos are perverted people. They shouldn't be practice and propagate their perverted actions. Not only Islam but
Judaism and Christianity has something to say about them.
Read the Bible.
Islam didn't bring injustices but justice and fairness--because
it came from the All-mighty Creator himself. Western concept of freedom of speech and equality in inherently inconsistent
and mere hypocrisy. Islam deals with reality.
No matter how much murtads like Ayan Hirsi Ali and her counterparts try to fight God himself--they are bound to fail
here and the hereafter. If you play with fire--you will burn your hand.
