Tell me what you know of Cain and Abel's story, leading up to Abel's death and afterward. Thanks!

ok, here's the question, please respond how you think, not how your religion thinks, or anyone pressures you to think:

ok, first off, according to the bible, god sent adam and eve to live in the garden of eden, a paradise, with a temptation, and even though he created free will, and bestowed it upon them, the temptation was too great, they gave in, and somehow, because of that one mistake, god has decided it right to damn us to this hellish earth, ridden with death, corruption and poverty. you call that all knowing and forgiving? damning the entire human race, simply because of one mistake, and then 'claiming' that he will forgive us for our sins, while he tempts us to sin. then, if we've lived a full life, sinned our hearts out, not asked for forgiveness, we get to go to hell, a place where we're ripped apart by demons, experience the pain of death, for eternity. if we live a full life, free from sin, we go to heaven, where we worship his greatness for all eternity... huh?

why do i say this

because if god is all powerful then he is a monster because he has the power to stop evil but choses not to do so

on the other hand if god is all merciful that means he wants to stop evil but cant do it because he is not powerful. That makes god a kind person

i would chose a god who has no power at all but who is kind rather than chose a all powerful god who is wicked

what will you chose?

I have a good life and am quite content. I have a bright future and I am blessed. Does anyone else feel this way (elaborate a bit if you wish)?

Is it because god wont let them touch women? Don't you see how christianity drives people who are likely good people to do bad things such as rape?

God, who can create or destroy entire galaxies with no effort at all, has to get Noah to build an ark, have millions of animals from all over the planet go to this ship, flood the entire planet, drain the water and then redistribute the animals again.

What is the point?

Why not just say "Let their be death", and be done with it.

I wait a long time for my Believer Buddhist part Animist girlfriend when she goes to the all faiths and non faith homo sapien sapien only restroom at the Mall.I bet some of those all faiths and non faith homo sapien sapien only booths got doors in the rear that lead to different parts of the Mall, like a special Christian Fundamentalist Gossip and Hair salon, or some room where they got a free 5 minute Pagan foot massage, or maybe some little cafe with a couple of Atheist hunky guys serving the chicks coffee and little cakes.
I mean there's got to be a reason why she's taking so long all the time.???

I would like to start out by saying, I am a NON Judgemental Christian. I know everyone has their views and I am not here to convert you. Please spare me the insults!...lol, i know to you God doesn't exist and I can understand that. My question is to you though, at what point did you realize you didn't believe in God? How old were you when you made the decision? What was the turning point in your lives that said no way God isn't real? I would love to hear details...thanks guys and take care.

Well, that was my pathetic attempt at being *clever*, but what i am saying is, Do pro-life people eat animals that were slaughtered en mass and feel no remorse about the millions of deaths every day? Do pro-life people eat at McDonalds in other words?

Even to say that man evolved from bacteria in no way can contradict a thing that can't be proven in the first place (imaginary supernatural friends). So you could acknowledge science and still go on "mutating" your fanciful god imaginings all day long to still be the "source" of the science.

So what's the problem? Are you more devoted to your deities or books written by humans (for example, Genesis)? Wouldn't that be putting the cart before the horse?

Show me the bones of the person who wrote Genesis, I don't believe they existed!
