Mormons wear white clothing under their regular clothing to remind them of something about God, so if you choose to mak fun of it please make fun of kippahs and all other religious attire- mormons do not believe the clothing is magic.

This announcement was brought to you by the mormon-catholic alliance.

“It is one of our perennial problems, whether there is actually a God. From the Hindu point of view each soul is divine. All religions are branches of one big tree. It doesn't matter what you call Him just as long as you call. Just as cinematic images appear to be real but are only combinations of light and shade, so is the universal variety a delusion. The planetary spheres, with their countless forms of life, are naught but figures in a cosmic motion picture. One's values are profoundly changed when he is finally convinced that creation is only a vast motion picture and that not in, but beyond, lies his own ultimate reality.”
-George Harrison.

I love this quote, and i'd like your opinion on what you think he means.

It truly would have godlike powers and its existence would be beyond doubt. Of course, it couldn’t be worshipped as our creator because we created it, but to us it would be a god and to it, we would be insects living meaningless lives. If it could write for us a perfectly fair and unbiased moral code, would atheists obey it? If it could judge us in criminal courts with a cold, emotionless perfection, would atheists resent its judgments?

I'm a teenager raised Catholic and I think that the church shouldn't tell me exactly how to practice my faith, but that I should try and do it myself. I am semi-practicing, I haven't gone to church in a few monthes but I do believe in God and actually listen to the priest. I'm not a homosexual but I just want to know what the Vatican tells over 1 Billion people on this earth to belive about people who are gay. I don't see whats wrong with it but my parents seem to just avoid the subject (they seem neutral-semi-against it).

- Paganism worshiped a female deity...we know what happened to them
- Salem witch hunts - sought to crush any and all independently thinking women.
- Old testament pretty much treated women like 'complete' objects, akin to domesticated animals
- Islam, most forms have special 'rules' which some women choose to follow where as others are forced to follow.

- i do not wish to go into too many fine details...but from my 'limited' point of view, it just seems weird that so many women would follow something that has clearly had a history of maltreatment and sometimes violence towards them.

- this also obviously is from picking and choosing certain facts in order to try and emphasize my own views, but thats what all religions do...so I shouldn't be held accountable in that respect.

- also this is a generalization, obviously not all religions treat women with a lower regard to men, and I'm sure that there's a lot more out there that i have missed.

I read in another post that this was against their religion. I was watching the show on HBO (can't think of the name) where the man has 3 wives. He started to have oral sex with one of them and she stopped him. Seems like they are missing out on one of the most pleasurable ways to give and recieve love.

I had a bad feeling that God would make something bad happen if I were to do something bad, but I still ended up doing the bad thing. Now I'm feeling sad and guilty and helpless and hopeless that the bad thing will actually happen. How can I make things right?

I'm pretty much a good person. I don't do anything too bad. Maybe say the lords name in vain, get overly frustrated, argue sometimes when I get stress. Besides that I always try to do the right thing. But still, if I try to start going to church and reading the bible I get scared(paranoid even). It's all seems so dark and black and white and sort of cult like or robotic(like thinking without your own opinion). I don't think that is the way that God wants us to think. It's an awful feeling so I just stop and figure I'll figure it out on my own without other's influences. What do you think?

The bible says that when we go to Heaven we will have a new body, a perfect body. Will we have genitalia? Will we have sex? I've been told that we won't have either. Serious answers only please.

If you need help making the decision, here's a quote by Kurt Vonnegut that may help “Be careful what you pretend to be because you are what you pretend to be.”
