Some people would look at it as a gift from "God." So shouldn't we embrace it!

There is a reason I said pot and not heroin. I do research before putting things in my body. Pot has no harmful effects (unless taken every day for 40+ years). Heroin is very toxic, I would never touch it.

Obviously you haven't done your research. Who is giving you your information, your pastor?

Usually the uptight ones. Pot is a mild psychedelic, so if somebody is a quivering mass of inhibitions and self-delusions, they're often afraid that they'll completely unravel if they're not 100% in control all of the time. I like it because I've had some of my greatest spiritual insights while buzzed on it.
Sure, pot is herbal, but it's also a mind-altering substance just like alcohol or meth. However, I happen to think that it's about the least dangerous drug out there, especially compared to baddies like alcohol or tobacco. If Jesus didn't have any problem creating the wine for the wedding in Cana, I can't see why he'd have a problem with the merry weed.

A lot of religious people buy into the snake swallowing its own tail syndrome:
1] Religious people encourage lawmakers to make laws forbidding it and putting users in prison,
2] Religious people use 'it's illegal' frequently as their justification for opposing it.
Strange stuff. Half the people who are old now used to use it a lot with no problems during the 60s and 70s. But today there are still people who know nothing about it and say it's addictive.

There are those who believe that they achieve a closeness to God when they use natural herbs (not just pot) and it is often frowned on.
People fear what they don't know. And people choose not to know what may be addictive because addiction hurts loved ones.
I don't believe pot brings me closer to God, nor do I feel that herbs are a valid argument for promoting addiction. But, I'm biased because pot makes me feel sick.

If that's a valid argument for pot use, you can say that heroin is a gift from God also. It comes from opium. Give me a break.
Better do a little more research. Smoking pot is strongly linked to schizophrenia and psychosis. And not after 40 years of smoking it- almost immediately after beginning to use it. Somebody done lied to you.

some legalists strongly oppose it.
on the other hand, I believe pot is not really the issue, but what is inside the person's heart ... is there love?
Proverbs 15:17 - Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

Marijuana was not made to smoke, neither was poison ivy. One joint is like smoking 16 cigarettes, because of all the tars and carcinogens in it. It also messes with the pleasure centers of your brain......it is wrong to smoke it. That's why it is illegal. It also takes away your ambitions as you watch your dreams go up in smoke. You are fooling yourself if you think it is okay. You are very wrong. That's why people with their half mast eyes, look so stupid, because it dulls your brain.

My grandma does. I guess she's still stuck on the "Reefer Madness" hysteria. She keeps reminding me that it will make me go crazy....
If there's any evidence of a higher power...the creation of the plant would surely be proof of how much it actually loves us. :)
