I'm ready for the end of religion.
p.s. I think you might be depressed. Seek some counselling. You are waiting for something that probably isn't going to happen quite like you think it is.

most people who believe in a positive afterlife (ie - heaven) are going to feel ready for it at some point in their life especially if they are going through tough times.
in life, there will be those better off than you and also those worse off than you. it is sad and difficult. i struggle seeing others suffer. so i try to make a positive difference in the world. some may say i am one person and what i do does not matter, but i think of the story of the starfish (1).
in the story of the starfish, there is a person who is criticized for saving starfish by throwing them back into the ocean because there are so many starfish one person cannot possibly save them all. as the person throws another starfish into the sea, he/she tells the critic that it made a difference to that one. (1) the message is a good one it is that one person can make a difference. it is when so many people think they cannot change the world and make it a better place that makes the earth such an awful place to be. if you do not like something work to change it.
if you need inspiration look at the stories of Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi), Martin Luther King, Ron Dellums and Steve Biko (trying to end apartheid in South Africa), Betty Williams, Peter Benenson (and the Foundation of Amnesty International), Mother Teresa, Pope John Paul II, etc.
"Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
A music video worth watching is Nickelback's If Everyone Cared because the lyrics and video speak to how one person can make a difference. (2)
the difference between two canidates is not a vote, but there will be a difference and each one of those people who voted helped to elect the canidate.
one person can make a difference.
you said nothing else seems so interesting at all, so it seems like you might be depressed and it could be worth considering seeing your doctor a therapist for a professional opinion.
some religions believe people could create heaven on earth but people have to change what they are doing for that to happen.
if people believe that they cannot make a difference and accept the world the way it is then nothing will change and the same old problems will only worsen.
you are not alone in your disgust at the world. however, your disatisfaction can serve to motivate you to change the way things are.
hope this helps. best wishes.
note - i only advocate nonviolent means of making a difference.

The worst part of this scenario is your attitude, I'm sorry to point out.
If people seem better off or wealthier than you, remember that possessions are unimportant. If someone seems to be struggling, be a beneficial presence and ask yourself what's needed, and respond appropriately. If you feel you are in an intolerable situation that is making you miserable, make a change or find some help.
"Same old problems" is what's known as the human condition. Read Johnson's Rasselas or Siddhartha.
Every living thing is miraculous.
There is good taking place in every situation, if you have the perspective to see it. God's will is being done all the time, and from your limited perspective it may not seem like it, but the universe is unfolding as it should be.
You may feel useless more than anything else. Take a step out of your rut and engage with the world from a fresh standpoint.
And listen to Ze.

See? There are still some laughs out there.
Here's a huge e-hug for you. Don't worry, everything is OK.

I take it you have noticed that there are a LOT of prophesies about this time period. The bible, Nostradamus, No-Eyes, Edgar Cayce, and so forth.
The thing is, and you realize it, that the old systems don't work, are corrupt and are dying a slllooooowww death. We seem to be collectively at the edge of a precipice, just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
What if -- instead of being "the end" of civilization (or "the world") -- we are approaching a massive shift away from the old and into a whole new era.
The Hopi, the Maya, and a whole lot of others say we are in the process of entering "the fifth world of peace", but also said there would be a break in period marked by wars, earth changes, extreme weather, societal changes, plagues and famine. They also said that if collective consciousness can evolve, it won't be that bad because we will all be here to look after one another.
What if "the rapture" or "ascension" is just a shift in awareness wherein we decide to stop living in fear, and stop being herded and programmed to be victims of the current system, and decide to start creating something entirely new? What if it means stepping into our own Christ Consciousness, and deciding to live our lives from the heart center?
Your thoughts and feelings make your world manifest... take responsibility for them.

No, I don't feel that way. Sure, life isn't always easy, but it is as wonderful as you make it. I could never wish for the entire world to end, denying those who should come after us a right to their life, just because there's someone richer than me, or living in a nicer house than me or something. Look at the people that are lived hundreds of years ago. They had no heat, no electricity, no running water, no medical care, they had to hunt and grow their own food, make their own clothes...and they didn't complain. You're living in a paradise compared to them.
The problem with a lot of people that complain is not that they have it really bad, it's that they don't appreciate what they do have, and the good that IS in this world.

Start reading the bible, especially Matthew. You will feel better. If possible, you might want to get a baby kitty to keep you company. And don't watch so much TV. That will get anyone depressed. Yeah, life is pretty tough. Too many weirdos. To the ones that are happy with their lives or the world in general, you have your reward, so please enjoy. Not to say that I'm not comfortable in life. I made the mistake of adopting too many animals so It's hard for me to travel. There's too much sorrow in the world and there's only so much you can do. Practicing random acts of kindness and things like that.

How sad. To be in such a hurry for the end of the world when there is so much good you could be doing here. And when there is so much to enjoy in this life! Try this..stop thinking about yourself and feeling sorry for yourself. Try getting involved with helping others through volunteer work or other community service work. Maybe it would help you----Blessings!

didn't you know that the end of this system of things is near & God is going to destroy all the wicked & usher in a new system (Matthew 24:14) . . .And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
(Matthew 24:7-8) 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

Are you a Christian? Maybe you're just having a bad day. Yes, the world is in a mess but we can have joy every day living for the Lord. Philippians 4:4

You may believe in God but do you strengthen your relationship with him? Do you follow his commands? Commit to him? Listen to him? Pray to him? Publicly acknowledge Him? Spread his word?
the Bible says not to think of your self above another, but to honor them over yourself and you said "and then theres others worser then you".
the World won't ever be interesting until you make it so. Keep yourself busy by spreading the word of God and getting closer to him. Get to know God better. Spend some time with him.
