Amen J H- I think people rewrite the scriptures to go along with them, instead of changing their lives to live up to scripture

I still have not heard proof, just believe- so I am guessing that it takes faith to not believe too!!

Thank you for asking this!!
People need to know that the Word of God IS in fact the Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16,17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

2 Peter 1:21 "for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit"

Here are the problems that arise when saying that not all Scripture is true:
1. How can imperfect words come from a perfect God?
2. Who then chooses what is and is not correct? And by giving someone that authority, hasn't their authority been placed above God's because they now are the FINAL authority? Their word becomes the truth and God's word is put under theirs. You see the danger.

God wants us to know about Him. Why would He give us information that is inaccurate regarding Him? What is in His Word that isn't true anyways? All Scripture is from God and is the Truth. As Christians, it's CRUCIAL that you are firm in that belief. Otherwise, you have made your own opinion more valuable that God's.

This question has been asked in different ways over and over again- and I will answer it the same way- THE WHOLE BIBLE IS THE TRUTH-BECAUSE THE IT IS THE WORD OF GOD!!!!!!! I just thought of something as I was writing this though- what part do you think is not authentic and divinely inspired? You say is there a chance that parts are not. So please comment and tell us what parts you think may not be divinely inspired. I can guess what you may say but I will not assume. I will ask this question myself, would love to hear the answers.

Why do you ask these kind of questions to unbelievers. You're wasting your time. You know they don't believe and will never believe that every word in the original manuscripts was inspired by God Himself. Most of the respected translations have been faithfully and prayerfully translated by men of God who were guided by the same Holy Spirit who first inspired the originals. Every serious student of the Bible can study the original manuscripts themselves today if they want to. The trouble is those who have not read are just as ready to condemn what they know nothing about as readily as those who have read it and do not believe because they are blinded by unbelief. In William Cowper's words:

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

James.

James, contrary to Evangelical Christian teaching, was a legalist. I can demonstrate this in Act 15, and Acts 21:20 - 25.

There was disagreement between Peter and James in
Acts 15
7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.
8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.
9 He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.
10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?
11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

But did James listen? No. He didn't agree that grace was through faith. Paul, the one who is responsible for the so called Pauline Epistles did what could be considered not worthy of what Pauline Epistles say. For almost every time Paul was around James, he folded. He did it in Acts 21 as well.

What was the threat in Acts 21? Those that were zealous for the Law of Moses.
Here is what happened:
18 The next day Paul and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present.
19 Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

20 When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: "You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.
21 They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.
22 What shall we do? They will certainly hear that you have come, 23 so do what we tell you. There are four men with us who have made a vow.
24 Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses, so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everybody will know there is no truth in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law.

So there it is! James, the legalist, was looking along with the other elders in Jerusalem for Paul to perform a work of the Law because of zealous Christians. The implied threat? That they might not come after Paul if he did this.

But did it work?

Nope!

27 When the seven days were nearly over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him, 28 shouting, "Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against our people and our law and this place. And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple area and defiled this holy place."

May I also note that these people didn't have the same attitude with James and the 'elders'. They were fine! They practiced in the temple needing to be 1) Jewish, 2) Practicing the Law of Moses.

So James had something in mind when he apparently wrote his epistle. He had works in mind for salvation, and said so. He could not understand that faith spurs works through the Holy Spirit. God brings them on, and it doesn't take the Law of Moses or the adherence to it to have the Holy Spirit to work in the truster of God's life.

The Bible was divinely inspired, and I do believe it, I think the Old Testament, was the divinely inspired part. The New Testament, was written by the Apostles that traveled with Jesus. Saying all this is my way of understanding it when I read it.

100% of the bible is entirely written by MEN!!!!!!

The supposed "historical facts" don’t even line up. Like the wrong prophet with the wrong king at the wrong battle and it was first written down years after the fact. That’s is historical fiction. The setting maybe a historical fact, but what they said happened is fiction. We don’t know who wrote the gospel, The first one Mark was written at least 30 to 60 years after Jesus died. Matthew and Luke had a copy of Mark with them when they wrote their books. John was deliberately written to fill in the gaps and the arguments that the new christian faith was having. These are stories passed on for years and years before written down. None of these are first hand accounts even though they are written that way.
Every religion has their spin on it, but try to find the facts. The conclusion is that there is little in the bible old or new that is fact. It mentions places that are real, but that’s about it. You can walk the streets where Jesus carried his cross, but did he really carry a cross? I try to find sources out side the bible that mention the same thing the bible does. Like the census that was talked and why Joseph went to Bethlehem. No record of it ever happening outside the bible. This is not the stone age. There was all kinds of trading with other countries. Something should have been mention somewhere about this massive disruption of the economy. Anyhow, we base our faith on the stories of Jesus in the gospels. It they can not be proven as fact, even by the Roman empire, then faith is based on fiction?

What is the foundation? Well, I learned that my foundation is not on a book, but in a feeling I have. The love of Jesus Christ, fictional character or not is a real love. It’s a unconditional Divine love. I just decided to let go of the dogma and go with my feeling. Believe what I want to believe on faith. No one can know that mind of God, so why try. The only thing true in the bible is that we should love one another as (fill in the blank with any loving divinity) has loved us.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but what man on Earth had the power to decide what is and what is not inspired by God?

And are the books of the Bible the only divinely inspired books on Earth? Did the group that chose them choose the right ones, leave any out, include any by mistake, ect.?

I don't thnink any man can look at a book and have the authority to say "this is the word of God".

None of the Bible is divinely inspired. It was written by people who wanted to explain things or control people.

Due respect to all irrespective of the religion they follow.
All religious books have been written by wise people who wanted to educate/advise the people to adopt/follow certain norms for better living and according to whichever cult they were inclined to they created characters like Ram,Krishna,Jesus,Allah etc. They gave examples by making these characters they created follow the norms advised by them for getting victory over evil.
All religious books are ment to advise people to do good, be honest, do your duty etc.
